I figured I would post here and see what you all thought. I am currently exclusively breastfeeding my 10 month old daughter. Well she isn't 10 months yet, but almost. Anyway she does get some solids but not much, mostly just breastmilk. I do DDR at least 30-45 minutes a day but sometimes more if my kids will let me and the housework. Does anyone know how many calories I should be comsuming with that DDR and breastfeeding?

IIRC, breastfeeding burns an additional 500-1000 calories per day, since your daughter is 10 months, I'd put the number at the higher end of the scale. That means you should be consuming at least 2000 calories per day (figuring a minimum of 1100 calories + 900 for breastmilk production). Your pediatrician should be able to give you a more accurate figure, but that should get you started.

Thank you so much! That definitely helps! I will ask her pediatrician when she goes in for her shots this week.

Thank you so much! That definitely helps! I will ask her pediatrician when she goes in for her shots this week. A site I highly recommend is caloriesperhour.com. Not only can you calculate what your RMR is (the rate your body burns calories on a day of rest, to do basic functions like breathing, etc.), you can then determine from that how much you burn from other daily activities, such as breast feeding, and by that you can determine what your calorie deficit needs to be to lose weight.
