Hey everyone, This site looks really great to bring people together. So i def had to join. I just started playing DDR extreme Supernova about 2 weeks ago. I've also completely changed my diet plan. Only intaking 1400 calories a day. Great protein etc. That's all situated. I'm also working out my chest,bi,tri, shoulders, back, abs. About 4 times a week. And DDR about 4-5 times a week. The supernova game has a workout mode in it. Which is really awesome. I do 500 calories each time i play. So I'm getting 2500 calories a week min. Is this enough. Or should I do 1k calories a day. I'm only about 20 pounds overweight. I'm really just focused on getting my stomach to not be so "beer" bellyish. I'm 22, 6'0 168lbs. I've been working out for a month. I've dropped 10lbs and 1 inch on the biceps and 2 in on the chest. but.. my abs.. I hate em. Thanks

Well, first off the calorie counter in DDR is not really that accurate, but it does make a good workout to workout measuring stick. Given your weight loss so far, it sounds like your plan is working for you, so I see no need to change it at this point.

I am 21, 5'11'' and weigh 165lbs, You can not be overweight if you weigh 168@6'0'', and of course not a whole 20 pounds. If your trying to get a 6pack, then losing a couple pounds should do it. I have taken a health science class and nutrition classes in college. A 1400 calorie a day is not healthy, especially when you are lifting weights. You need to increase your calorie intake to at least 2000, possibly 2500-3000, depending on how much you are lifting. Otherwise, you will not grow. DDR is an aerobic exercise, or 'cardio.' That will help you tone better and shed excess fat where you dont want it, but when lifting you need to have the excess in calories to gain muscle, because muscle weighs more than fat. Last thoughts: 3500 calories = 1 pound. Losing 2500 calories a week, at 500 x 5 days is a lot for your weight. The minimum requirements of energy in calories to live is 1400 a day. Since I do not actually know your full details (maybe fat in certain areas, low strength, whatever the case,) I wont go into this any further, as there are tons of sources that can help you. Best wishes. Check out ( www.t-nation.com/ ) if you really plan to focus a lot of effort in weight lifting.
