hey gang
i lost 25 pounds over the summer by just going 1200 calories a day every day and not exercising much.. as soon as class started i wasn't able to maintain this, i gained 5 pounds before i even realized what i was doing and now i'm back on the wagon. but this time i don't know if i can go that low on eating when i have the stresses of class on me, so i'm wondering should i just exercise tough self control and stick to 1200 or should i go for the 1500 + 30 minutes of exercising in the morning?
my goal is to lose 15 pounds by christmas
thx

Do whichever you think you can maintain long term, which in this case sounds like the 1500+exercise plan.

Ok you should try what I'm doing, it's working so far for me, but I'm also an entirely different person. Try to eat 1,500 calories a day, but not too much more and I do Billy Blank's Tae Bo, do that for 30-40 minutes at first for only like 3x a week, then move it up as you get better, Tae Bo does work, it's fun, fast, and he's really motivating.

I lost 95lbs in a year. I didn't have any changes in my diet plan, at first. All I did was play DDR and ITG, and the pounds started falling like mad. Eventually my diet changed, but only because I wasn't as hungry any more, and ate less. I drank lots of water though. I've never been much of a calorie counter, well..not at all. It takes a lot of my time and I start feeling negatively motivated, and feel like giving up hope. So I just don't do it. But everyone is different. If u don't have DDR or ITG yet, I'd suggest u look into it. If u don't have a video game system, or can afford one, u can download Stepmania on your computer, and buy a dance pad (and usb extention). At one point I couldn't even afford that, so I wound up just playing stepmania and put a bath rug on the carpet, and pretended it was the center of the dance pad. HAHA! Hey...it helped. I'd play like 20 songs straight in a row. Breaking between each song. That was probably about an hour. And hey...u can download almost any song u like (not just DDR songs). It would probably be easier for me to exercise more than to eat less calories. Good luck with whatever u decide/decided ~Fharyn~
