Hey everyone. New guy here. I own DDR, well the dance pad at least. I ended up getting rid of it because I thought I might lose weight doing it. I'm beginning to think after reading all these posts that maybe I wasn't doing it enough or something. I'll probably go and get it tomorrow. Is an hour a day good enough to lose some weight? Or am I gonna need more? And how long of a time span are we looking at here?

An hour a day sounds good. The thing is, right now you're thinking about it, but it's really hard to stick to a plan you come up with. Also, exercising alone isn't enough. You need to make sure you're counting your calories and eating healthy.
I myself have troubling keeping up a daily exercise routine...

Two things are going to make success: Consistency and intensity.
Consistency means you get on the pad every day, even if it's just for one set of songs, or even one song. You have to commit to that.
Intensity means you have to play at a level that challenges you. You've got to push yourself to play harder and harder songs as you improve. You should be out of breath at the end of each song, and take a few moments to recover. Think 400m dash rather than running a marathon.

Well, I am going out today to buy me some Ankle and Wrist weights that I can wear almost consistantly. I'll probably be wearing them when I play DDR for that hour each day. That should help me out.

^If you're getting ankle and wrist weights, I reccoment you get fairly light ones if you don't already weight train. I started with 0.5 kilograms, it doesn't seem much, but it adds up.
Also, with ankle weights, you may only be able to do a little while of DDR with them on. I got some the other day, and they wore my legs out so quickly.

I'm probably gonna like, do an hour of DDR every Mon,Wed,Fri and then on Tue/Thur I'm gonna do some martial arts stuff that I have been getting into. And I'm gonna do all of it with my weights on. I got two 5lb. ankle weights and two 5lb. wrist weights.

Be very careful with the wrist and ankle weights. That's a lot of weight that you're not used to having at the end of your limbs. You can very easily hyperextend or otherwise damage your knees and elbows trying to do rapid movements with too much weight.
