It's a marketing campaign, but if you can stand eating cereal for two meals a day it will most likely reduce the number of calories you eat for those two meals. Personally, I'd opt for something that has a little more protein.

I love the fruit and yogurt and the vanilla almond ones!!!!!! They're awesome... sometimes I eat them for 2 meals just cause I like 'em... but usually it's only for breakfast.

I like the way the chocolate version tastes, but substituting it for two meals a day.... I can stand one, of course (breakfast), but last time I tried that I got really sick of eating it for lunch too. It wasn't filling enough for me, sort of like the way you basically DRINK your meals in the slimfast diet

Special K is kind of good if you chop up a fresh banana and eat it with that. Maybe have a piece of toast with a bit of peanut butter on it for protein? Or make your one meal that isn't the Special K have some sort of protein. *Shrug*

the cereal isn't really half as healthy as they lead you to believe. Honestly, you'd almost be eating empty calories with special K.

I remember watching something on tellie that said it's almost worth just eating a sugary cereal instead of the health cereals. Xstatic's right, it's a marketing campaign.

I love this! It's kind of an expensive route to go, but I personally think that the snack bars and the chocolate delight cereal taste great, and the other stuff is fairly good as well. Of course it is a marketing campaign, but if you stick with it it also works. The hardest part is remembering to pack all the food and NOT LET YOURSELF CHEAT. But unlike most snack bars, they actually taste good.

I think if you want to lose weight, you are probably someone who enjoys food. So why punish yourself by restricting yourself to eat this one boring cereal for two thirds of your meals? Have a bowl for breakfast with some fruit and milk, sure, but please have some real food for lunch and dinner! You know why people think they have to buy something specific to lose weight? Because companies told them so! As boring as it sounds, eating real food that is processed as little as possible (and therefore makes no profit to food factories) will allow you to lose weight, not feel hungry, actually feel healthier and more energetic. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, some lean and some fatty proteins, even have a piece of cheesecake once in a while! Thin people don't not eat fun things, they just eat a lot less of it. All good things, in moderation. I used to think I would be fat forever, at 200 lbs, and by being reasonable it wasn't too hard to get down to 135. Just getting the appetite down is what you need. Forget special k or any other 'diet'; you can't throw money at this problem to fix it, unfortunately.
