Okay, so I'm just about ready to build my own hard platform, but I want to do something unique with the arrow graphics (rather than just the standard DDR arrows). Any of you folks who have the graphics skillz got any ideas? I should be able to handle whatever graphics format you throw at me, and I'll need to be able to print it at full size (11"x11") and still have it look good.

Hmm... did you want.. "fancy" arrow designs, or did you want something completely different, like I dunno, dragons or ice cream cones or something? I'd be more then happy to help you out with this. It's your pad though, so you'd just have to be a *little* more specific  |

I'm really open to anything (I know, the words graphics designers dread). Probably more on the arrow side of things, but I'm open to ideas.
For "fancy" arrow designs, I think maybe either something in a stamped metal look, or a classic art deco neon.
For "abstract" arrows, I did like the one home pad that had the Kanji for North, South, East, and West. I thought that was a neat idea.
My problem at this point is that I haven't decided if I'm going to cover the "blanks" (Corners and center) with metal, or leave them as exposed plywood. It's a very different feel for each, and I want it to blend with the arrow graphics. Obviously the arrow styles I proposed would work best with the metal on, but as I said, I'm open to other ideas.

I was gonna jump on this bandwagon too - but then I remember the multitude of 1/2 finnished products I have going on and I'm just gonna sit back and let sarah take this one on.

I'd be more than happy to help. I may be able to whip something up tommorow 30 minutes later...Here's something with the kanji I whipped up... quite simple, but simplicity isn't always bad. I could spice it up if you wanted, or leave it plain, whatever (if its even what you want)  I also found this other interesting design (I didn't make these)   A bit much for my tastes, but they're still pretty neat. I isolated just the arrow part of these, and if you like the design I can elaborate more on it.  I'll do more when I'm more awake |
