This thought popped in to my head today... will DDR be enough for me to reach my target weight? I mean if I play for 1-2 hours a day and monitor my diet, will the workout I get from DDR be enough for me to lose more weight? Has my body adapted to how many calories I burn/consume daily, and bumped my metabolism down to match it? I would certainly like to join a gym or something, but playing at home is oh-so convenient, which is the problem I had to begin with, as well as time restraints.
Any thoughts?

This is sort of the point I was debating in my head last night. I think it definetely fills the cardio need, but shouldn't we do weight training like 3 times a week to tone? And yes, I do worry as well that my body is just adapting to the DDR and that could be bad. But not as long as we keep doing it. But what if we ever stopped playing DDR? I don't know. Like you, I seem to be full of questions right now.

Will it be enough? Sure. Are there things you can do to help the process along? Absolutely. Essentially all exercise boils down to three categories: Cardio, Resistance training, and Stretching. DDR falls squarely into the Cardio category. If you add some resistance training, even just some good old bodyweight exercises (squats, push-ups, and crunches), you'll increase your calories burned per day, and add some muscle that will increase your metabolism. Mix up your cardio a bit. Put on the DDR music and do jumping jacks for the whole time, try to string 3-4 songs together before stopping. Or try some jumprope. Keeping a variety in your workouts will keep your body off balance. It won't know what areas to optimize, so it'll try to optimize everything. And that can give your weight loss a good kick in the pants.
