Yes, you're doing yourself a disservice by not eating breakfast. When you wake up you're coming off of at least an 8 hour fast (maybe 12 depending on when you ate dinner and if you had no evening snack). Your body needs some energy to get you going on the day, and you need to break that fast (hence the term, breakfast). By not eating, you're doing two things. 1. You are forcing your body to run on very little initial energy. This makes you sluggish, and actually slows you down for a good portion of the day. And 2. You're building up hunger in your boy, which makes you all the more likely to overdo it at lunchtime, which is just going to set you back further on weight loss.
Exercising first thing in the morning can help kick-start your day, since it gets your blood flowing and your muscles moving again.

If anything all I have is a cup of coffee for breakfast, maybe 2-3 days a low far muffin but that's it, and I've been losing weight just fine. Then again, I play DDR for 20-30 minutes after Im done my coffee... I just wanted to throw it out there that yes you can lose weight without eating breakfast, but it would be better for you if you did

As far as exercising in the morning goes, should you be eating breakfast or exercising first?

Whatever works for you. I don't recommend working out within about an hour of eating, but you may find that you need some form of food in your stomach before you work out.

It's not true that skipping breakfast means you won't lose much weight. You will lose weight by not eating breakfast. However, it's not the best way to lose weight.
A lot of the recent studies I've read say that those who eat breakfast have a much lower chance of being obese. My feeling is that those people who east breakfast are more health conscious to begin with, hence they eat breakfast. But they also claim that eating breakfast helps you feel more satiated, and hence you don't pig out during the rest of the day because your brain fools you into thinking you're starving.
What is true is what abrannan says about coming off a long fast. Eating first thing in the morning gets your metabolism revved up which is one of the most important factors in losing weight. Imagine not eating for a week. Your body adapts and becomes very, very efficient at saving your energy so you can survive. That's why skipping meals and eating below 1200-1500 calories per day is the exact OPPOSITE of what you need to be doing when losing weight. Your metabolism will slow down and you sabotage your weight loss objective of increasing metabolism.
What you do when you eat a meal/snack every 2-3 hours is that you're keeping your metabolism stoked by providing fuel for your body. In essense, you're telling your body that you're providing fuel every few hours so it feels free to burn all that off via a high metabolism and it doesn't have to worry about starvation.

I don't eat breakfast either, and a sensible lunch/dinner. Today wasn't a sensible dinner, fries and chicken from Swiss Chalet. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day
