It is quick high intensity bursts of activity. For example it said you run for 30 seconds at almost full speed, then jog nicely for 30 seconds, followed by another 30 second full speed run, then jog, etc.
It makes your body work really hard, it burns a higher percentage of fat then other forms of cardio and it leaves you with an increaed metabolism for the rest of the day.
This particular program says do it 3 times a week. Starting off with 4 minutes, then every other time add 30 seconds of running and 30 seconds of jogging.

Okay, so if I was to start today, I'd run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30... Then not tomarrow, but the next day, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30, run 30, jog 30.. Each time you do it, you add a total minute? Can you do it every day?

Be aware that this is designed for bodybuilders and other high-performance athletes, not for those just getting into a program. It's designed to take advantage of the larger quantity of muscle mass those folks carry.
That's not to say that you can't receive benefit from a similar program, such as hill sprints (run up the hill as fast as you can, lower your intensity on the downhill).
I wouldn't recommend doing it every day, your muscles need time to recuperate. You can work out on the off days, but alternate workouts to other areas of the body, or do low intensity exercise.

Well, as mentioned in my reply to your "Getting Personal" thread, you need to define what "in shape" means to you. Then you can start to build a program to get you to that goal.

Could DDR in itself get you into shape? I mean not just help you lose weight but get you into shape? Like your THR and your blood pressure and such does that get taken care of too?

Sure it can. It's just another aerobic, cardio exercise. The only difference is that it's a lto more fun than most cardio.
