Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a weekly weigh in on Friday. I think it might be a motivational force to commit to weighing in regardless of how you did that week. In the past when I weighed in a weight loss group setting I actually made better food choices to ensure a loss that week. I guess it is the accountability factor. Just my opioion but if i go a long period without weighing in regularly the pounds creep back on. I picked Friday cuz i figured it would give 5 days to counteract any weekend revelry. Let me know what you think. -M

I think that sounds like a great idea! I will probably be more motivated just knowing that I have to weigh in once a week. Start now: 255lbs. I'm actually new to this board....and just started DDR, for the first time, last Saturday. My weight loss adventure just started 2 weeks ago at the weight of 268lbs. I know most of the weight that i've already lost is water weight....but I still feel good about it. As a way to lose my weight....I chose to start by eating 6 small meals a day (1000-1200 calories daily). As well as play DDR and try to walk 1 mile a day. It's cool because DDR is fun! I can just keep playing....and it doesn't seem like i'll ever just get sick of it and stop....like I do with most exercise plans I begin. See everybody next Friday....for the second weigh in.

125 last time I checked a couple days ago. The weekly weigh-in sounds like a good idea to me.

I'm trying to lose a little bit of my gut (and yes, I know you can't spot reduce; just that is the specific goal), so I'll play this game!
Current weight: 172
I've probably built up some water weight again, so I'd expect this number to go down a bit by next week.

Water Weight=Biggest scale bane
I hate when I get on the scale and one day I weigh, like... 200 and the next day it's 206.
It's damned upsetting.

But it makes your first week of weight loss look so productive in the numbers!

Good luck with this guys Personally I won't go for it, just because it has the opposite effect on me... I get discouraged if I don't like what I see on the scale, and it bothers me. I weighed myself after 3 months and was exctatic to see I had lost 30 lbs, and I'll break out the scale again in another month or so... if I see I had lost 1 lb, gained 2, whatever, it bugs me, but the effects in the long run have a more dramatic impact Sorry I wasn't trying to be discouraging, good luck!!

Hi all...brand spanking new here.....I had my first "session" with DDR last night....omg it was so much fun!! I played for almost 3 hours. I hope this helps me drop the weight as nothing else has. Im 5'4" and 169 pounds...I will weigh-in on Friday with ya all...good luck everyone! Oh...and...are we going to just weigh-in every Friday on this thread or will there be a brand new thread dedicated to each weigh in day?

I think it would be a whole lot less confusing if we dedicate a new thread for each Friday that we weigh in. But that's just my thoughts on it....anything will do.

I think it would be a whole lot less confusing if we dedicate a new thread for each Friday that we weigh in. But that's just my thoughts on it....anything will do. We could do it that way, or everybody could modify the posts that they put in this thread every week to update with the date and weight. Either way works for me. And what the heck, I'll participate as well, even though I'm fairly happy at my current weight, and I haven't been dieting as much lately. 4/22/05 - 165 lbs.

Morning All! I would prefer a new weigh-in thread each Friday ..just think it'll be easier to find and our weigh-in numbers would be more organized that way. Plus it will feel all "official" thus will motivate me more to watch my diet. (Yeah Im weird) Just throwing my opinion/preference in with the rest. Last night was my second workout with DDR...omg its so much fun ..Im playing on "training" mode 01(and beginner level) tho, and getting mostly A's now with a few D's thrown into the mix..I want to get through all the songs with an A..then move on. Question: On the training mode...theres a selection of numbers that range from 01 and up ..what do these represent..are they higher skill level songs? I was wondering if I should stay on group 01, get through all the songs with an A, or AA then move to "light" and restart group 01 get through all of them and then move to "standard"......OR...am I/should I move on to 02, 03, etc? Can anyone give me an answer to this. Sorry for being SUCH the Noob. hehe Anyways....2 1/2 hours the night before...2 hours last night..Im also doing some weight training and crunches..my body is in some sort of shock as I came from basicially NO exercise or activity(spending most of my time sitting in front of my computer) lol. I can almost feel myself burning fat and losing weight which is rad. Im hoping DDR will be key for me to finally drop the excess pounds as I have tried just about every other method out there from healthy to unhealthy. Some of this lead to starving which would bring on binging and Ive been caught in a vicious cycle of that and getting fatter because of it.....Ive ruined my metabolism and killed off muscle and gained bodyfat. Its enough to bring even the most confident person down into a world of depression, frustration and desperation. Ive become buried under this repetitive defeat(and added fat) and look to find myself again. DDR seems to make the "eat more healthy and exercise more combo" possible to me. Im excited with the prospect of getting into shape! ;D Anyways.....now that Ive rambled on and on ....lol. Im grateful to have stumbled on this whole DDR thing and am happy to have company. Have a good week everyone!
