I just bought the new x-box high density ddr pads with the DDR ultramix 1 and 2 games. They aren't bad at all! I Like the high density foam, i'd say its worth the $50 a pad to invest in, very comfortable. Anyways, I'm male, 20 years old, 5'10, 205 pounds.. I have a moderate amount of muscle, I dont picture myself as being 'real' fat, but i am overweight. I went on the atkins diet a year ago, i used to weigh 220 throughout high school, and the atkins diet helped me to drop down to 195. Ever since ive been fluxuating between 200 and 205 for over 5 months now. I've managed to keep the weight off. Atkins has extraordinary results if you have the willpower to just eat meat I usually play ddr on heavy, I have the coordination to know which arrows to hit no matter how fast the song is moving most of the time, but of course having little stamina and not being able to move that fast, I can only play heavy on certain songs like drop the bomb, B4U, etc etc.. I kinda like the calorie counting portion of ddr, hopefully ddr will be a little more tolerable than atkins ever was.

well...atkins for a vegitarian, would suck... so I don't dare go there. Anyhow, DDR is way more tolerable than anything else *in my eyes* and no pun intended. Anyways...welcome to the boards!

If you were only eating meat on Atkins, no wonder you found it so intolerable. Atkins is just as much about eating high fiber vegtables as it is about eating meat. They're re-resvising the diet again soon to reflect more of a glycemic index (the amount a certain food raises your blood sugar) viewpoint, which will further open up the types of food you can eat on the diet.
But that aside, welcome! The stamina will come fairly quickly, as long as you're putting the time in "on the pad" as it were.

Well, that's just how i am.. The only vegetable i'll really eat is corn. And of course corn isn't the healthiest..
I just never did enjoy eating fruits or vegetables, i've always been healthy, and dont get sick much.. I get my sources of nutrition from other foods..
But, let me rephrase that, the atkins diet is only intolerable at first. the first week of limiting your carbs is the toughest phase of all. I did it a little differently, i just ate no carbs at all.. which resulted in some pretty rapid weight loss, I think i lost 20 pounds in a month or a month and a half (cant remember).. The only reason I stopped was because I figured I would try increasing my carbs to about 20-30 grams per day.. well i threw myself back into phase one, once i had any carbs at all my body started craving them, my body went from forgetting how much it really wanted them, to remembering and just needing them. So my 20-30 grams per day ended up in me thinking some fried chicken would hut, cake, etc.. It was pretty much just my own fault, My goal was to lose 40 pounds total, i made it half way and have never gained that 20 pounds back, i've just been going on a mini-low carb diet every time i start gaining some of the weight back.
I Think when you lose weight your stomach shrinks a little, which makes it easier to not 'pig out' or eat the quantity of food that you used to eat. I dont know i'm not a doctor, thats just what it feels like.
But atkins is a fantastic diet for meat lovers. It has always included eating vegetables and fruits, but alot of people you might talk to just take a daily pill to keep from lacking the vitamins their body needs.
I might do a little combination of both. When you're on atkins and go into 'ketosis', your body has no sugar (or carbs) to burn, so it resorts to burning pure fat. The results are noticed immediately when you go to put clothes on, or look at yourself in the mirror.. some of the fattiest parts of your body begin to appear less bulging, and your body begins to become smaller in certain areas. Combined with exercise, you can really start shedding the weight. I used to play raquetball and such while on the atkins diet, and even though your body doesn't have carbs to burn, you still have alot of energy due to the ketones that are released within your body.. they act the same as carbs.
Alltogether im not sure how healthy it really may be, but again i'm not extremely overweight and i'm an overall active person. I've never had any health problems in my life, so i think it would be safe to say that atkins and exercise isn't for everyone, but for those who are generally healthy and are tired of waiting so long for diets to show results, etc.. atkins is definately an extraordinary diet.. (if you like meat of course :-) )
I might get some negative comments on the atkins diet, but again I say its not for everyone, all I can say is i've tried it and i've gone from weighing 220 to 195 in just over a month.. That's just how amazing it can be if you're dedicated.
Hopefully this might seem motivating for anyone on the atkins diet right now, just my little contribution.
As of now i'm combining atkins with some carb intake with DDR. We'll see how it goes!
