I started to play DDR exactly a year ago. For the first 6 months I was working on my skill to get better and better and finally started to pass all the 9 footers consistently... However, despite playing at the arcade atleast once a week (and 2 to 3 hours when at the arcade), at home probably two to three times a week for an hour and a half or so (constant playing in Event mode) I STILL get sore from playing and I haven't lost a single pound! Admittedly I used to heavily snack a LOT (like eat a whole bag of chips at a time) but now I only eat my main three meals (sometimes only two, but I never skip breakfast), the occasional snack, drink more water than I used to and have a better variety in my food... (plus cutting out the constant snacking really saves a lot of cash) About the only thing I've noticed after playing the past year is that I have better stamina in the game itself and my heart rate is about 20 BPM lower than when I started (60BPM from 80), but it seems I haven't had any other health benefits what so ever (well my leg muscles are much more firm than they were) Basically this is frustrating me to no end. Has anyone else been playing for a long time and not seen any weight loss results? Not losing any weight is just making my leg muscles stronger and stronger, but unless my whole body is a giant muscle, I should be losing atleast SOME weight or atleast some inches around the waist

Have you checked in with a doctor? Sometimes there are other hormonal issues that can prevent weight loss.

Second that thought.
Also, if your heart rate is only 60-80 bpm you're not going to be seeing many results from that. Unless you're 80 years old or something.

my heart rate is 60BPM at rest, not when I play, I've never taken my heart rate when I played...
Yes, I've gained muscle mass, that's for certain, but gaining muscle doesn't mean your fat reserves stay. I should still be losing some fat around my body, not JUST gaining muscle mass...
Though I have a doctor's appointment coming up soon so I'll just have to bring up the issue with him.

You might also want to really look more carefully at how much you are eating. Maybe your DDR exercise is the only thing keeping you from gaining weight?
