Just decided that if I am serious about getting myself down to a good weight that maybe I should be active in the forum, give myself something to keep me going, you know.
Anyways, I did have a few questions about the best way to go about losing weight while playing DDR.
Currently, I only do one 600 calorie run at nights, mostly because of my work schedule. Would it be best to gradually work up to 1000 calorie workouts or should I just jump into it and go for it each time.
Also, I unfortunately work in a WOW resteraunt so my food choices during the day are... somewhat unhealthy. I do have access to shrimp and grillied chicken, just wondering if those are a bit better then the fried versions.
Anyways, Its awesome that this forum and site exists. It go me into DDR for the weight loss and I'm currently 16 pounds closer to my goal of 210 (started at a weight 0f 280)
Good luck with your weight loss goals Im no expert, but from what I have read, I would gradually work up to 1000 calories, because if you jump right into it your body might get used to it faster and you wont be pushing yourself. Pushing yourself is good as long as you aren't hurting yourself. Hope all goes well! Good job on the 16 pounds!
Yes, grilled beats fried in just about any situation. Throw those on a salad with some lower calorie dressing and you're set for a meal.
I wouldn't worry too much about how many calories DDR says you're playing, but it does make a good workout to workout comparison. Play what you feel you can play (provided you've got the time, etc), and make sure you get your heart rate up. Do that, and the rest will take care of itself.
