Man, I've had step mania on my comp for a while now, but you know I came across some of these success stories about losing weight with DDR so I finally ordered me a dance pad and a USB converter. The first night on that pad was awesome I probably played for like an hour straigh (on light of course. Can't get my feet to move as fast as my fingers yet) so yeah, I'm 16, 5' 9" And I currently weigh 282lbs I would love to get to around 200-220lbs or less. I've tried alot of things out of the diets I've tried the low-carb stuff did the most but those pounds came right back. And as far as sports I've done soccer, basketball but with no results. I'm hoping doing DDR consistently will be my key, I mean even after that first hour on the pad I felt so insanely engergized. Anyone got any advice or tips?

Good job! I think this could definitely help you - consistent exercise is the key, and once you find something you love to do, you will be more likely to stick with it.
How is your eating? You really should try to get that under control so that your exercising can be most effective. Not necessarily something drastic, but just try to cut down on junk food and watch portion size and you should be great!
Keep us posted about your progress!

As far as eating I'm just going to try to cut back on my portions and servings and whatnot.

Hey! You and me are very alike in that situation. I'm about 285 and need to be between 200 and 220. Let's make it happen!
Foodwise, I eat like 5-6 times a day... small portions but healthy foods... no candy and i'm cutting sugar out of my diet and drinking only water or OJ (rarely). I'm already starting to notice a boost in energy and maybe a few pounds off the top.
good luck to ya... be seein' ya around the forum

You can totally reach your goal, man. I used to weigh 290 and last may I weighed 265-75, and now I weigh 200-204. I do other exercises aside from DDR, but I know for a damned fact that if it weren't for DDR I'd still be pretty high on the scale.
As far as eating goes, don't change your diet drastically. That's a horrible thing to do because it's difficult to keep up a drastic change in diet. I still eat what I want, I just watch what I eat. That, and no regular soda... Nothing but diet for this gent.
Good luck, man. My goal was being under 220 and now it's to be under 200. My optimal goal is 180.
Let's stick together, team. -Roger that.

Awsome this motivates me so much. I got down to about 264 but i just weighed and i was 267 but i think it is because i just ate and drunk 2 glasses of water. but yea my goal is 190 or 180 so thats about 70 pounds to loose.

Wow, good to hear there's another Texan on here. That suit sounds kinda spiffy, I'll have to check it out. Hopefully they'll have it at a wal-mart or somethin, because all the K-marts are closed in my area...and yet they continue to run K-mart commercials.

i'm kind of skeptical of those suits...yes you loose water weight, but thats water that your body needs, so youre jsut putting it right back on, or at least you should.
its better to stick with the excersise (great work guys) and watch what you eat, if you can, write it down (i cant because then i obsess about it which leads to a binge)
VEGETABLES ARE KEY!!! besides being reccomended to eat 9 - 1/2 cup servings of fruit and vegetables a day for nutritional reasons. They are insanely low in calories (unless you eat avocados and coconut) advice is to learn how to prepare them in yummy ways and keep lots of them in the front of the fridge for those snack attacks.

Sauna suits are no good for weight loss. As mentioned all they do is dehydrate your body, which is bad. As for the blood flwo in your muscles, a proper warmup will do the same thing, but you will burn more calories doing it, and you'll get other benefits (muscle tone, flexibility). If you need to lose water weight for some reason (like making weight for wrestling, practice I don't endorse, either), then the sauna suit can help you drop that extra pound or so of water weight. But by no means should it be looked at as a long term weight loss solution.

This sucks >_< for some reason my whatever is causing the problem won't register up&down or left&right at the same time on Step Mania, it was working all fine and stuff and then bam...now I can't DDR till I get it to work. That or go buy DDR for the PS2 either way this means I can't DDR for a few days.
