wel, not much to update on as of now. i got my pads in today. (SCORE!) ive been playing DDRMAX2 all day and ive been sweating like a.....well you get the point. my hair was soaked, as with my sleeveless shirt, my headband and my wristbands. i absolutely know i will lose weght on this. i need to go down and weigh myself at the grocery store. the one i have doesnt work. i only have a Playstation 2, so i cant work out on LIVE . i used to have an Xbox but i traded it in (along with a bunch of games) for a Slim PS2. the only trouble i'm having with the pads is, they slide alot, and i'm having a hard time finding my "center" without looking at the pad, as there are no defining textures or anything that tell you youre off center. do you guys have any suggestions for that? i'm dissapointed because i'm getting Cs when i should get As or Bs on a song. thanks in advance! tired as hell but already addicted, ---Daniel Hi Daniel! Patience is the key here. i think getting c's on your first tries are awesome! I was routinely pulling e's, d's and the occasional c when i first started. my kids teased me that i was too old and had no rhythm! Just yesterday, my oldest refused to play doubles with me after i beat him on one song! he just quit! Now i routinely get aa's and a's though i only play on light mode because i have achilles tendonosis and don't want to do myself any further damage. Still, i've gotten a on "la senorita", aa on "a silly barber", and aa on "do me" and "jam & marmalade" and a bunch of other songs, the fastest being 190 beats per minute! So hang in there and be patient. Those A's will come before you know it. Just don't try to do too much to soon. Hope this helps cibi

thank you for your motivation cibi, but i'd like to say one thing. bah-humbug to your kids, i believe age is just a number, and you are as young as you feel. before i started DDR, i felt about 60ish with all this weight on me, now that i'm exercising and stuff i hope to get to feeling my age. i can definately notice a huge difference in my energy levels, and i find myself playing DDR late at night when i cant sleep also on a totally unrelated note.....DDR has drastically improved my reflexes. tonight after a session of DDR i decided to take a break from it and play some burnout 3. last time i played it, i found it way to fast of a game for me to get the hang of, so i played one of the stages in europe (lots of snow and turns) i usually get about 10 takeouts before blowing up my car, but i found myself playing till about 30 take-outs. DDR has helped my hand-limb coordination drastically and i hope to see some more improvement

this morning i woke up extremely sore from the DDR session from the day before, and toward the end of the day i decided to work some more DDR to loosen my muscles and stuff. it worked but i have a question. if i keep up with the same routine every day will i always be this sore in the mornings? Nah. If you keep up with the exact same routine, you will probably be sore for the first two or three weeks, and then settle into a plateau where you don't get sore, but you get less benefit from the workout because your body has figured out the most effective (read: easiest) way to do the songs on the difficulty you choose. To keep losing weight at an effective rate, you have to continually push yourself and challenge yourself just a little bit harder so your body keeps itself on it's "toes." Sore hurts, but it's also a sign that you are challenging yourself. I've come to relish being sore in the morning, because it means I was doing a challenging workout the day before. If you're extremely sore, to the point of debilitation, you might want to slow down your workout a bit . . . you could be pushing too hard too fast, and that can sometimes lead to injury. Eventually, you'll be in good enough shape that you'll only be a little sore the next day, even if you've pushed yourself a lot. I never stop being sore if I've been pushing myself, and that's the way I like it. Stretching *before and after* you work out and the occasional dose of Aleve after you work out will help with the pain if you don't like it, tho. You should really be stretching no matter what, tho.
