Hello all:
I'm a newbie to DDR and I am doing some investigation work on which DDR to get. Currently I only have PS1 - but the PS1 that came out before they called it PS1, so I don't even know if that PlayStation is compatible with the PS1 versions of DDR.
Another thing I wanted to know is, should I just start out with the "plug and play" version until I investigate further, or can you suggest which game to purchase (xbox, PS2) or is it all the same?
Also, I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive pad (under $150) that has both cushioning and one you can feel the arrow buttons under your feet... Any suggestions?
Thanks for any and all comments and suggestions...

Just in case you didn't find the answers you were looking for:
1. Konamix, and yes it is compatible with the older PS.
2. Konamix will hold you for a while, but you'll have to make a decision when it comes to Xbox v PS2. If you want more versions of DDR, PS2. If you want to play online, Xbox.
3. Under $150 you can get the Ignition (or a knock-off Ignition from somewhere like Levelsix.com).

;D thanks for your reply!
I went to Best Buy lastnight and bought the following:
- PlayStation2
- RedOctane Ignition Pad
- PS2 DDRMAX
We got home late and my husband set it up for me. the whole time I was sleeping on the couch...lol... by the time it was all set, it was about 11pm. So I got up to try it out "for a few minutes" before going to bed.
I finally staggered up the stairs, sweating and spent, at 1am.
I got up early this morning to get on the thing again, but only did it for about 20-30 mins because my feet hurt from the night before... My husband comes down, sees me on it, and says, "you're totally addicted to that thing already aren't you?!?!?"
Yep. I'm addicted.
Thanks again for your reply. If there are any helpful hints you can give a 34 year old newbie like me, I'd surely appreciate it!
Thanks, Headmeister
