ok i'm about 207lbs. right now... i started out at 240lbs. I'm 5'7. I've lost 33 lbs. and i feel a BIG difference. But the looks and how things fit dont amount to how i feel. I have to lose 90 lbs. so i have less than 60 left for my goal of 150 lbs. Now my pants are loser and I suppose i'd say i lost a size and a half... not quite 2 yet. But I'm seeing tons of ppl who have lost only 20 lbs. and lost 3 sizes! And I'm wondering why this isn't the case with me. I think its becuz on really overweight ppl (actually technically still obese) such as myself, even tho i lost alot of weight it doesnt make a huge difference in appearence yet. This could be becuz 30 lbs. lost off a 190 lb. person would look like a hell of a lot more noticable than 30lbs. off a 240lb. person. And I'm still staying on the diet no doubt. I'm def. motivated enough. I'm just a bit scared that when i get to 150 my size wont go down to wut i expected. (7 - 9)I'm paranoid that my wieght and my pants size will not go down accordingly. I think that once i get lighter and lighter sizes will fit faster cuz the weight makes a bigger difference. Is this assumption right?

Look more at % of total weight lost than # of pounds. For you to lose 30 pounds from 240 (30/240 = 12.5%) is the same % as me losing 22.5 lbs from 183 - 160. I've dropped a pant size and a half (38 waist-35). Plus, basing your measurements only off of weight doesn't take into account muscle mass and body fat %. If I lose 50 lbs of fat while gaining 20 lbs of muscle, the difference on the scale in only 30 lbs, but the difference in body shape and size is closer to the 50 lb number.
Some gyms will do body size measurements (Arms at the bicep, shoulders, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves) and track those along with weight and body fat %. I know Curves does this. My wife has had times in the past year where the scale only sent down a pound, but she lost 3-4 inches (across all measurements). It can help you to see that you are making measurable progress, even if the scale doesn't show it.
My advice is that you worry less about the numbers on the scale, pick up some weight training in addition to DDR, and possibly look into taking body measurements to assist you in seeing the progress that you hoped for.

im not worried about the numbers on the scale.. i love then numbers on the scale. I'm upset that i think my measurements should be going down more concidering how much i lost.
But the percentage thing makes alot of sence.. thank you -Allie
