I started at 154, lost a few with mostly just diet (not eating at the 'rents house), and I *think* I may be able to update my sig (I will weigh in midweek and make sure the pounds I lost were real and not water weight). Request 1: Word of encouragement. I could be down to 146 (that is 20% of the weight I want to lose from 150) but its been going slow (6 weeks for 4 pounds, and they might not be permanent).
Question1 Tips on gaining "feet" on ddr... tricks to turning for certain foot patterns for efficiency in speed, etc. I don't play workout mode usually, I have a bit of a gamer soul so I like the challenge of making the grade, and I'm sure I'm doing certain patterns wrong.
Question2 What is that "other" foot game? The one with 4 diagonal arrows and a center thing? I am pretty sure its a cheap but difficult rip off, since the arrows are all in the wrong places and it made me dizzy even to watch a bit, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. Perhaps i'll try it someday.
Question 3 Is the original american version of ddr good? Once I "beat" DDRMax to my happiness, I will probably play Max 2 more than I do, but its good to have more variety that still interests me a lot. I'm sure I'll continue to play to make sure I still make the grade, but I'll need more variety once I get better.

Answer 2: Pump it Up, by Andamiro. The machines can cost as little as half of a DDR machine (to purchase, not to play). Very popular in the spanish speaking world.

For question 1 try browsing the really busy ddr forums like www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/ ...they really get into the playing strategies there.

Answer #1: Practice. Just keep playing every day and you will make progress. Make sure that you try the higher foot rated songs because if you don't try, you won't get better.
