I do about 40 minutes of DDR everyday a week and I burn around 500 calories each day. Is this too much, too little, or just about right? Just wondering...

It's not so much the calories as it is the heart rate. Just make sure to get it up 70% (?) for at least 45 mins a day. With dieting, the calories will take care of themselves!

DDR usually reads the calories a little high. Don't trust the calorie readout. Make sure you get your heart rate up for 30-40 minutes every day.

Getting your heart rate up and keeping it up is a cardiovascular workout which is a great way to burn calories and lose weight, plus raise stamina, improve blood pressure, and more.

but how can I assure raising my heart rate will work any better? Because it is a measurable response, unique to *your* body, to the exercise you are doing, not what some statistician has come up with as an average. It makes a much better bellweather of your activity level, and thus, of the quality of your workout.
