My name is Shannon and I am a 19 year old female. I am new to this site... I have been playing ddr for quite some time, not on a regular basis until recently. I need to lose some weight. I had a baby in October, and couldn't play ddr again until the begining of January. I am getting married in October, and I would love to lose some weight in order to feel and look better, possibly get to wear the size eleven jeans that I have never been able to wear. I have tried dieting, always crashing because I wasn't dedicated enough. However that's all changed now. I have things to look forward to moreso now than ever, and I feel that I have got to make this work. Unfortunately for me, I am a manager at our local Mcdonald's. I am trying to skip the fries, and eat only the fish and chicken sandwiches. No nuggets, no burgers. I am slowly cutting out soda, but have not yet completely. Please offer some advice for me. The support would be great! Thank you all! Shannon

Hey, Im an 18 year old female, 5'6 and 180 lbs. I'm a supervisor at Wendy's so I know exactly how you feel. But recently I've decided to make a change in my life; eat healthy and drop those pounds. I've already noticed a significant change in my body just from not eating Wendy's. I know it's hard because the food is all around you (and if you're management I'm assuming you get the food for free) but I decided to stop eating it. Cook at home and bring your meals with you. It will make a dramatic impact on your body, not just with losing weight but you'll feel a LOT better too. Some tips; DON'T DRINK POP! That stuff is LOADED with sugar that is terrible for you. If anything, stick to the diet coke, bottled water or any 100% juice. I can't emphasize enough how much you shouldn't drink the pop. Try and cut the food out completely. Even if you're only eating the fish and chicken, the stuff is still deep fried and very unhealthy. If you want to induldge eat a grilled chicken every few weeks; other than that just cut it cold turkey. I know it sounds harsh, but really it's not as difficult as you might think. I've been Wendy's free for about 2 weeks and already I'm feeling great. I've lost 5 lbs just from NOT eating fast food and eating healthier. Just make sure you bring something to eat with you, otherwise the temptation to bite into that chicken sandwich loaded with calories is very tempting. On top of all that, the best thing you can do is stay motivated. If you know you want to lose weight, just say no to fast food and pop. Don't even concentrate on the weight aspect of it as much as the health factor. Don't think of yourslf as going on a diet, just eating healthier. The thing that keeps me going is I think to myself how unhealthy the stuff is for me, and I reeeeaallly don't want to be putting that into my body. Congratulations on your engagement, and I'm sure you'll look wonderful if you stick to your motivation. By the way, if you haven't seen it I would highly recommend renting a movie called 'Supersize Me', a documentry about the effects of fast food food Some of the stuff in there really opened up my eyes. Good luck!

Wendy's has some really healthy options.
My favorite meal: The side salad with no dressing Small chili (put on the salad) Small fruit cup
It's really yummy with lots of fiber from the beans.

I do something similar at Wendy's
Grilled Chicken sandwich (plain) Caesar salad
Cut the chicken from the sandwich into cubes on the salad, don't use the croutons, use only half the dressing.

Yea we do have some pretty healthy stuff, but after working there for so long I can't even taste the difference anymore. I can't tell if it's chicken, a salad or chili... it's all the same to me We are introducing this new fruit bowl thing (I live in Canada so maybe you guys in the states already have it) and it has fresh pineapple, cantelope, grapes and... err... honeydew I believe. It also comes with strawberry yoghurt, which, suprisingly, tastes good. The grilled chicken still packs something like 7 grams of fat... no thanks and all the dressings are loaded with calories. The best ones are the fat free french and the low fat honey mustard. The reduced fat ranch is just that, reduced fat. It still packs on over 12 grams of fat per package. Ick... If I were to eat an all Wendy's diet, it would have to consist of a plan potato (unfortunately we don't carry low fat sour cream) a side salad (ceaser salad has icky bacon, plus the parmasean cheese tastes like rubber) mandain orange cup, fruit bowl and bottled water. I don't even know why I'm going on about this lol, maybe just trying to provide some insight. If you guys have any questions, I'm your insider...

At McD's here in the states, we haqve salad that you can get chicken put on it, or fruit and yogurt parfaits. We have soup in the wnter also. I don't like the spring mix in the salads, so I don't eat them, and I only eat the yogurt in the parfaits. The soup is okay, but I don't particularly care for it. So all in all, I am doing what I can because I can't really afford to pack my lunch everyday right at the moment. Eventually I will.
Sometimes I get cheeseburgers without meat-it is actually pretty good as long as the cheese is semi-melted. Or if I am able to, I do eat the salad's as long as I can make them without the spring mix, and only cheddar cheese and tomato added, no chicken please! I use ranch dressing(which is high in fat and calories, but it's the only kind at McD's here that I care for) and no croutons. I try to drink water more often than not, but I also get rootbeer.
It is definetely difficult because as long as I eat at McD's, I don't have to pay for my food. I am slowly trying to go to subway or bring my own meals once or twice a week.
Toodle-loo!

The point is: No matter where you work and no matter what your circumstances, there are ways to eat healthy.
You can do this.
