Hey everybody! When you run and get a cramp in your side is there any way to get rid of it? Or anyway to prevent it? Does anyone know how it happens or how it works? Thanx!

Before or during your run, are you drinking a lot of liquids? I usually get cramps in my side when I chug water before or during the run. I usually just wait out the pain, but it can be serious.. You may want to see a doctor and get checked out. Also, take sips of the liquid if you're doing physical activities.

In addition to limiting water, I've found that keeping my breath steady while I'm running really helps prevent that cramping feeling in my stomach.
Medical science doesn't know what causes them, but some theorize that the cramping is caused by the diaphragm spasming (kind of like a full-body hiccup). Keeping my breath steady, even when I'm out of breath, has really helped to keep those cramps away.
