Hi. I'm new to this aspect of DDR, but totally down with it. I'm Mike, friends call me Vuono. I'm 188 but pretty short so I'm fat.
I live in a place that got DDR recently (within a year and a half) and everyone started playing around the same time and got good together at it. That's all that was ever important to my friends and I, getting good at DDR. So by the time we were on heavy, we lost about 10 pounds, and then didn't change weight. It was great, eating junk food, drinking soda, and playing DDR with great friends.
I took a long break from DDR, I still have all the skill to play heavy, just not as much endurance. And I'm trying to get back into playing daily, so I figure might as well try to lose weight too.
Losing weight really is your own greatest challenge. It's all on you. At least in our situation it is. We don't have a personal trainer to push us, or a nutritionist to keep us eating right. We make ourselves play daily, and we make ourselves eat right. Sure, we cheat once in a while, but we wouldn't be human if we didn't cheat. The main thing is, we all have the ability to push ourselves, and when you hear stories of someone pushing themself to lose 20 or more pounds, it gives you inspiration, and then when you write your story, it gives others inspiration.
We aren't this little underground community anymore...overweight and obese people are doing something about their weight in a big community and its amazing. A game with 4 arrows, simple, yet it's changing the world. Everyone keep this alive and keep staying positive and never give up on your goals.
