Hi, I'm Melissa. I just bought the home version of DDDR, for xbox (DDR Ultramix 2) and a wirelress dance pad. I've been trying to loose weight since I gained about 60 pounds at the age of 15. I'm 5"6' and right now I weight about 157. I want to get down to 135. I have a membership to the YMCA, but haven't been going enough at all. Anyways. I bought DDR about 3 hours ago, and played it striaight for 1.5 hours, it goes by soo fast, and I love the workout mode. I'm hope to this this everyday for at least an hour (and hopefully more) My diet isn't THAT bad, not too great either. I just turned 19, so I've been drinking alot, since I'm now legal. I'm hoping I can reach my goal in 3-4 months. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys had any advice, or any success stories.

Where are you that you're legal to drink at 19? Some crazy far-off land like Canada? Alcohol's a real killer for diets. Fairly high calorie (for a drink) that can cause some pretty big blood sugar spikes. Not to mention the long term liver damage, but that's more of a problem if you're chronically overdoing it. A glass of wine in the evening is okay, a bottle of wine in the evening is not.
I know that DDR is a lot of fun to play, but do remember to pace yourself. I tend to not play for a few days and then completely burn myself out on it in one session. Then when I go for my next session the next day, I'm still too sore to play well.

Whenever we go to the clubs, I always volunteer to be the designated driver. That makes me the hero with my friends because then they don't have to worry about a driver and I don't have to worry about anyone expecting me to drink.
Plus, my friends usually give me gas money or buy sodas for me while I'm there, so it works out doubly good for me.

Hey! Yeah, I'm from Canada. Most provinces the legal age is 19, but Manitoba and Quebec are 18.
I'm deffinatley going to start drinking less, it's just a phase. I haven't been doing that much, probably once a week, but I drink alot when I do.
I got DDR yesterday, and played it for about 4-5 hours. My ankles are really sore! It sucks, I have to go back on beginner mode, because it hurts too bad!
Thanks for you advice guys. I use to weigh 200 pounds about 3 years ago, I dropped to 165, then went up to 175, then back down. I just want to feel healthy, It's not all about vanity.

Its amazing how FAST drinks add up as a weight loss problem Just one or two sodas a day can really inhibit your weight reduction. Alchohol is a BIG problem for many. One glass of wine or a beer is fine but when you get into lots more its empty calories

I've stopped drinking soda. Maybe once a week (if that) I'll have a Red Bull or something. I drink about a coffee a day.The rest is water, I don't even drink juice.
