Hey Everyone! I have a question about how people look when they do DDR. I see a lot of people at the arcades who play DDR bent forward wit their behinds protruding outwards. I don't really want to look like that while i'm playing. What posture or stance can be taken in play to look better. How do people hold their arms without looking extremely rigid or unnatural? lol im going to feel so superficial if I'm the only one with this problem. Thanks for all your help guys.

It varies from person to person. I, too have seen them with their behinds protruding outwards. It may seem silly, but its what some people prefer 'comfortable'. The best advice I can give is just to get into a position that suits and comforts you the best.
For my stance, I just stand up straight. But if the song is very fast (paranoia, afronova, ect) I have the habit to bend down and my behind seems to protrude. Believe it or not, most people in the arcades I talk to say that it's their comfortable position and that it gets them into 'the zone'

The bent posture helps with balance on fast songs. It lowers your center of gravity, and gives you a more stable base to work from. When I play songs like Can't Stop Falling in Love (Speed Mix), where I'm hard pressed to step fast enough, bending over a bit helps.
My advice is to not worry about your stance, your body will find what's comfortable for it. Don't worry about how you look when you play. Just relax, and your body will take care of itself.

Yeah, if you kick buttocks on the song, nobody is going to care what you look like doing it. And to people that don't play the game, passing is amazing...

Usually, my arms are where Matt's are, but since I have long hair (need to get that cut SOON), I have to brush it out of my eyes every now and then. Also, I'm sure my arms do something crazy when I lose my balance like earlier today when I was playing Freckles on Double...I fell off the side, lol. That was an entertaining Fail.
