HI! I just had a question. Is it worth waking up that extra hour just to play DDR brightn in the morning (around 5 or 6 AM). I usually play like at 8 or 9 o clock in the evening since thats when Im most relaxed and unbusy. Does it make a sustancial difference to do it in the morning, because I really do need sleep around that time. Just a quick question Thanks

Well, from all the things i heard from my brother, he said it was better to play in the morning because it will get your metabolism going. So when you eat food, it will burn off 'slightly' faster. Not sure if he's right though, he's told me tons of lies

I remember reading an article about this. It was like that in the morning, it is better for increasing your metabolism throughout the day. But you are more likely to hurt yourself in the morning. In the afternoon, you are at your peak physical condition, and thus you can do better/not have an accident that tears a muscle.
In the end, the article suggested that you work out about 12 hours before your major meal. If you eat a big dinner, work out in the morning. If you eat a big lunch, work out in the evening before.
I could be remembering this wrong, so wait for the other people to agree/disagree.

ya I heard of that Metabolism dealy.. I just wonder about how well it helps.... Since Id have to get up an hour or more earlier. That could get me into a good habit of not needing so much sleep. Or back fire and make sick of DDR. Not to many people like to hear " Stupid Barber" First thing in the morning.
Never heard the eat before awhile before a big meal.. Which sadly DInner is my biggest. SO im conflicted

Any type of workout will give your body a temporary metabolic boost for 2-3 hours afterward. Workout when you need that boost. If you workout better in the evening, then workout in the evening. The differences as related to your meals aren't enough to justify messing with your sleep schedule.

I've found three benefits to waking up early and exercising.
1. When I exercise in the morning, I get it done. When I say to myself, "Oh, I'll exercise tonight after work," I tend to find a million other things to do than exercise. It's harder to skip exercise when I've woken up early for it.
2. When I exercise in the morning, I feel better. I know I did my "duty" for the day and I don't have to worry about exercising later.
3. There is a post exercise high that I can ride all day. I don't get the high every time I exercise, but when I do hit that strange nirvana, I get to be happy and blissed out all day instead of crashing afterward and not even noticing it.
That's all I have to say about that...

Whereas if I try to workout in the morning, I'm still groggy, my coordination is off, I have no food in my system and can only play at a level that I feel is about 40% of what I can do normally. But if I work out when I get home from work, it re-invigorates me, clears my head from the day's work, lifts my mood, and helps me get a better night's rest.
So it's all dependent on the individual.

I'm still new but not to the watching weight scene... Exercise when you want to. A metabolic boost is a metabolic boost is a metabolic boost. It is however good to have eaten before you exercise (but if its a big meal, don't ddr too soon after, you'll get sick, Wait at least an hour, like with swimming ), so if you haven't eaten for more than a couple hours, have some yogurt or an apple (you could faint otherwise. I'm a fainter.).

when you work out in the morning you have no food in your system yet. so youre burning off those calories that you want. just drink some water and STRETCH if you are going to work out in the morning.

morning is mainly better because then you dont get off the wagon better. In the evening people are mostly busy so tehy have no time to exercise. I say as long as you stick with it then anytime is fine except right before bed time because then when you go to sleep your metabolism slows down a bit and you won't get much of a calorie burn that way. I suggust maybe 5 in the afternoon is fine or maybe 6 pm.
