(Wasn't quite sure where to put this so sorry if it's the wrong sub-forum.)
Okay, so last year I got off anti-depressants after being on them for 4 years. While I was on them I couldn't lose a single kilogram no matter what I did (I also gained a lot of weight from being on them). At the same time I also cut out dairy from my diet. All of a sudden I'm losing weight and feeling so much better except for one thing. I get stretchmarks on my skin. Yup. Perfect timing huh? (I was 110kg and I'm now 85kg.)
Anyway, they've mostly faded, but have left scars. I understand that stretchmarks never completely go away (there goes any hopes of ever wearing any nice clothes) but I'm now really scared that because my skin is so thin that it will sag if I lose anymore weight. I'm nearly at the weight I was 3 years ago but I can already see that my shape is not the same as it was back then.
I'm trying to keep positive and just concentrate on losing the weight but it's extremely hard when I look around on the net and see all these before and after photos of horribly wrinkled stomachs. Granted those people are usually a lot older than me (I'm only 19) but it's not impossible that it would happen to me too.
It's really upsetting because one of my major motivations for losing weight was the fact that I would not have to cover up anymore, but it looks like I'll still have to because of the scars.
I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced stretchmarks or sagging from weight loss, whether or not it's gotten better with time (if so, what helped it?), and how you cope with it.
