Hello everyone! As the subject says, I'm a total newbie - to both weight loss and DDR. I'm 18, currently 170 pounds (I'm 5 foot 6) and my goal is 130. I started off trying to walk everyday but it just wasn't working when my mom came home with a DDR game and pad ~ she heard about it at work and figured she would spend the money and use my love of video games to help me out! Anyway I played for the first time last night and it was tons of fun!!! This is one idea that I can actually stick with! I'm hilariously discoordinated but that's what practice is for, right? Anyway I found this site and figured I would introduce myself, so here I am!

Awesome! Walking to lose weight is hard because, well let’s face it.....it's boring! DDR is fun and motivating at the same time, specially if you love video games. The first time you try DDR it's really hard but yet contagious. Combine some good eating with a healthy dose of DDR and you'll be on your way to losing weight.

Welcome to the forum Your mom sounds awesome for wanting to help and I think she got you something that will send you on your way to weightloss. Theres a lot of people who have successfully lost the weight through DDR and healthy eating. I'm still in the begining stages myself and trying to drop some pounds but I'm on my way as are you. good luck & blessed be

Go to your mom and give a big kiss on the cheek. In a few months, you're going to be a DDR Freak, totally healthy and a lady killer!

*wavies* Hi. I decided to join. I pretty much quit playing DDR January this year. Well eventually I got really sick and have been that way all year. Then injuries occured. Plus medicated on lots of hormones & steroids. Then the pounds packed on. I gained 50 pounds. I've recently been to a dietician to get counseling and pushed in the right direction. My ultimate goal is to go from 190's to 140's (5'7"). Hopefully playing DDR again will help.
