My breakfast has been really crap lately and now that im serious about losing the weight, I was wondering what a good breakfast would be. I've changed it but i don't kniow if its good or not. Its oatmeal and a banana.

The instant oatmeal isn't the best for you, they cook out a lot of the good stuff when they make instant oatmeal. If it's steel-cut slow cook oatmeal, then that's good. The banana is a better choice than a donut or danish, but still a bit high-sugar. Grapefruit is a better breakfast fruit, or berries. But a banana isn't a bad choice. You might think about adding some protein of some sort, like Hard boiled eggs or an omelette.

That's odd. The potassium in the bananas should be helping to *prevent* leg cramping at night, not causing it.

Hello?!
Maybe the leg cramps are from all the crazy DDR dancing you kids do.
I've found that massaging the muscle really helps when cramping starts up. It hurts to do it, but it stops the muscle spasms.
If you are still getting leg cramps after a week or so, you need to go to the doctor because they can be a sign of more serious problems than just playing too much DDR.

ok, ive always been backwards so this just proves how weird my body really is. at least this time the leg cramps weren't bad at all, could be the activity ive had lately. I'm surprised I havn't had bad cramps coz when I get done with my DDR my calves hurt but in a good way.

If you're overweight, I've heard that it's important to be careful about massaging your legs. Sore legs could be due to a blood clot, and massaging them could dislodge the clot and move it to somewhere where it could cause real problems. [ Maybe not something that's important for the OP, but for other readers who are overweight and still pretty sedentary. ]

Blood clots are one of those more serious things that I said that you might need to go to a doctor about.
There are other diseases that leg cramps are one of the symptoms for. That's why you should go to the doctor if they persist.

When the doctor put me on diuretics awhile back some of the warnings for them are not to eat too much potassium or magnesium or it could cause pain. I have leg cramps and swelling but it seems to be caused by too much salt and not enough exercise. I'm working on that though. Its improved drastically from a few months ago.
