I just got an Xbox and DDR for my b-day and I've been playing it for fun, but I really think this might be a great way to finally get myself on a program of aerobic exercise. My question is though, how long per day and how often should I do DDR to really see results? Also, is the calorie count on workout mode accurate? Thanks a lot for the advice!!

Emily, I might suggest you read some of the threads there on these boards. All of your questions have been answered here several times. I'll sum up for you here.
Is the calorie counter accurate? No, but as you'll see, it really doesn't matter.
How long how often? Play at a level that gets your heart rate up (aim for at least 23 beats in a 10 second count) and gets you sweating. Play for at least 30-45 minutes every day, 6 days a week (Give yourself a day off for rest). You don't have to play all 45 minutes in one session, three 15 minute sessions each day have been shown in studies to be just as effective. You can play more, but be mindful of what your body is telling you (You don't want to injure yourself). Follow that, and the calories will take care of themselves.
Welcome to the boards!

Thanks - I figured these questions had been discussed but I scrolled through for a while and didn't see anything. I appreciate it. Six days a week sounds like a lot, but I will try. Many days I get up early for class, like around 8, and I'm not back from work and everything until 8 or 9. But I'll see what I can do. How do you find out how many beats per minute a song has? Thanks for the help!

Six days a week sounds like a lot, but I will try. Then try for three days a week, and find time to work up from there.

The beats per minute (BPM) for each song is listed with the title and foot ratings.
I'm wondering if you mean heartbeats, though. Abrannan was talking about getting your heart rate up to an aerobic level.
To find your pulse, put your fingers just to the side of your voice box. You should feel a throbbing there. Count the beats for ten seconds (they should be around 23). If they are lower, work harder. If they are higher, slow down.
