I know, I've been meaning to put up a new pic, since I'm down 20 lbs from the last pic I've got up there.

FANTASTIC! How long did it take you? Are you still doing South Beach or minimeals or a combination thereof?

Still on South Beach, which includes mini-meals in the form of an afternoon snack and an evening dessert. The weight loss took about 7 weeks, but I've been on SB for about 8 weeks now (I've stalled in the last week or so).

I dont think of a snack and dessert as minimeals..That is not what you call mini-meals. I eat a snack and dessert every day also.
Minimeals are when you allot almost the same calories and eat 6 times per day.
I am sure you will get it off..but do keep in mind stalls can be caused by chemicals in your foods like aspartame.

I am sure you will get it off..but do keep in mind stalls can be caused by chemicals in your foods like aspartame. I get stalls whether or not I'm eating artificial sweetners/other chemicals, your body has certain weights that act as quantum boundaries and are more difficult to cross both when gaining and losing weight. Mine happen to lie about every ten pounds on the 5s Give or take a pound (185, 175, and 165). My wife's tend to lie a little closer, she's hit stalls at 145 and 140. Once we break through those boundary lines, we tend to lose weight fairly rapidly until we hit the next boundary. I haven't been measuring body fat or inches, but my perception is that my body has been slimming out even though I've been at the same weight (+- 2 lbs) for a little over a week now. We recently re-tiled our laundry room floor, and that's worked my leg muscles a lot more than normal, so I may be gaining a bit of muscle while also losing weight. I'm at the bottom of the boundary today, so hopefully I can push through to 163-162, which should be enough to break me through. My snacks and desserts tend to run close to 300 calories each, which is a lot closer to what I'd consider a mini-meal than a snack.

Sounds like you know exactly what you are doing! Congrats on being so close to goal.
Could you share a sample meal day if its not to much trouble.

There is a section called Before and Better where people are supposed to post their before pictures and current pictures. Here's a link: getupmove.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=PicsI'm too ashamed to post my before pictures. I can't believe that I was that out of control. I should just bust out and post them and update them when I lose, but I just don't want the world to see my before. It's like I want to pretend it never happened.

Well, I just joined and I'm skinny. 6' and 140 lbs. Before people start asking why I joined, I'll explain.
A friend of mine is Obese, I don't know how mutch he weighs, but it's alot. He walks alot to exercise, however I think he should do more. So I want to figure out how I can help him drop some lbs.

You don't think maybe your friend's aware they're obese? I'm sure if they want your help they'll ask for it...

what is your opinion on slimfast? the last time I tried was a long time ago and I accidentally overate the bars... they're really good . They're probably too expensive for my family right now. just wanting an opinion here.

Personally, I don't find slimfast satisfying. The shakes aren't enough food for me. They're decently nutritionally balanced, though.
