Okay, so I've been doing the DDR workout for about 6 weeks now.
For the first three weeks, I played about 40-50 minutes every single day. After that, I backed down, and I play on an average of 3-5 times a week now.
At this point, I play on Standard difficulty, and I just play random tracks until the Xbox version tells me I've hit 600 calories (which usually takes 45-50 minutes). Keep in mind that the Xbox version only counts cals when you step, not by how long you are playing. Also, those 600 calories usually equate (according to Konami) to 3.4 miles jogged.
Now, today I wanted to try something different, so I went to the workout room of my apartment complex, and I went on the eliptical machine (a Reebok Body Trec) and went for 40 minutes at a mid-range difficulty. After I was done, I was WAY more tired than DDR usually gets me, and also more sweat drenched. However, it said I had only burned 398 calories, and gone 2.1 miles.
So my question is this: If I feel more tired, but the numbers are lower, after the Eliptical workout, which one is actually doing more good? Is the DDR workout mode THAT inaccurate?

You break between songs on DDR, so you get less tired and can go longer. With an elliptical, you don't stop at all, so you wear out faster.

I've just gotten so bored with DDR. I really need to take a break for awhile. And it's not that I need new songs, I'm just tired of playing.
I'm gonna listen to audiobooks while I go on the elliptical. I think that will help pass the time.

I'm gonna listen to audiobooks while I go on the elliptical. I think that will help pass the time. Variety is the spice of life. You may also want to try learning a enw language while on the elliptical. Pick up a few Berlitz or Pimsleur tapes. Each lesson is about half an hour, which would be perfect for a workout.

Hey, that's not a bad idea.
