I'm a big fan of weighing myself every morning. However, it can get a little discouraging to see the same or slightly higher numbers most days of the week. So here's what I do to help keep me motivated. I record my weight every day, and I put a star next to my lowest weight each time I hit a new low. I was feeling like I hadn't moved on the scale in a week before I did this, but now I see I'm hitting a new low about every three days. It's a lot easier than tracking a moving average or anything math-intensive like that.

I found weighing every day to be discouraging. Now, I only weigh once a week. Every once and awhile I break down and weigh myself in the middle of the week and I regret it every time.
I've found that a daily technique that I can use for encouragement checking things off a list. I feel like I had a "good" day if I've eaten at least five servings of veggies/fruits, two servings of dairy, eight glasses of water and if I've exercised. These things are entirely in my control, unlike water weight gain.
I like seeing how may "perfect" days I can have in a row.

I like to weigh every day also..then I can adjust up and down as needed. Of course I know there are weight fluctuations from day to day..but I dont want weekly surprises..but thats me. Everyone is different in what works for them. I have a friend who didnt weigh herself for several months and she went on a very intense program and she was stunned when she hopped on the scale and had gained 6 pounds..Then again..if you get depressed when you get on the scale thats not good either.
