Is anyone familiar with this theory? I've done a little bit of research and found people who swear by it and people who swear against it. Here's the link for anyone not familiar: www.weightlossforall.com/negative-calorie-foods-list.htmI'm just kind of fishing for opinions here, see what people think of it. It seems to me that even this is true, the best way to take advantage of it is to just eat fruits and veggies for breakfast and not to go overboard, making your entire diet negative calorie food. That's what I've been doing. I went shopping, and purchased some fruits (strawberries and white grapes) and veggies (celery sticks, baby carrots, cauliflower, broccoli) and have had a solid mix of all of these for breakfast every day this week.

Well, seeing as how I NEVER have an opinion, (;D ) I'll weigh in here. I'm a little skeptical about the concept of a negative calorie food. The digestion process doesn't burn that many calories. And a diet consisting of nothing but -cal foods leaves you very deficient in certain things (like protein!).
That said, it certianly cannot hurt to add these foods to your diet as very low calorie filler foods. If they make you feel fuller, and as a result you eat less, that'll help you lose weight. Better to eat those than higher calorie foods that digest faster.

Adding the foods mentioned on the list will help you have a nice balance of fruits and vegetables, but I wouldn't recommend subsisting on them alone.
You need 2-3 servings of dairy every day and 2 servings of lean protien every day. 3-4 servings of whole grains is also necessary for some of those B vitamins that you just don't get from veggies.
If you want to experience first hand the hazards of altering your diet drastically, eat only asparagus for an entire day. Even healthy foods are harmful when eaten in the extreme.
