;D ;D ;D ;D
This is wonderful. I was waiting for the day when we are quoted on other sites. This tops simple quotes from Getupmove members. This comes equipped with screen captures. What else can I say but Thanks to the person who took the time to not only post our comments, but to throw in their two cents in the process. KUDOS..

Just registered a account for a second or two after reading that artical. Funny stuff. (Something Aweful reader... not a DDR fan.)
My experince with DDR was a odd one... EVERY kid I knew had one of these blasted sets... and I mean, every single kid in my area. My roomate, after some time cracked and got him self one too (After claiming that he was ''working out'' while playing video games. Of course, while he said it was helping him, he was drinking beer and eating ramen all day.). Of course, what is better then working out while playing video games? Such a original and new idea? Sure as hell didn't work for the old NES track and run.
Every night, at three or so AM, I would hear this horrible J-pop bass beat... along with the stomping of the slow dinosaur foot steps slamming the floor causing the whole ground to shake. Now, being someone who despies anime, and hates pop music, and having a roomate who loves everything and everyone out of Japan, there is bound to be some chaos brewing. One day, after the mind numbing jpop girl squeeling over and over, I broke down, lowered my head in shame, and said "I got next..."
Yes, that horrible day, that bleak and dark day I lost my DDR virginity.
After while, I did notice a cardio workout going, but my god, I thought I really hated Japan... but my hate level increaded 10x (Bad experinces with everything out of Japan really...). So, I could not stand playing it any longer. The game is not for me, but I am glad to see something published where it is telling kids "Hey! You can move! It rocks! No need for a cathadar!".
In short, I am glad you are taking the artical with a smile, Something Aweful really stabs at the "horrible" things in society, but I think what this website and forums is doing, is a great thing for everyone. That one kid they featured though... looking like a centerfold... he made me go blind. Besides that though, great website.
If you kids really do like the DDR workout thing, I recommend doing a full work out besides cardio, grab some weights and get on a bench.
Salute to you guys going out and doing something, better then 90% of americans everywhere.
Love, Unityskank

this quote made my day. lol.
but, that aside, thank you! I'm glad that you see that this web site does serve a pretty cool purpose. And until I grabbed DDR, I did not participate in physical activities. I found it too hard to stick with. I have a short attention span for it, unless...say when I was in school and I did sports.
But as much a bad rap as the game gets, I love it to bits because, without it, I would still be hating myself and getting into bar fights, and being an overall nasty. b*tchy, miserable person.

LOL. This is something that I did not expect to happen. They caught the thread of mine that I knew they would the moment I started reading through. I guess I'm not a Level 20 Dorkwad. Wow.
Personally, I'm surprised they didn't even try to touch "Boobs and DDR." Is it just too easy of a target?

Oh wow, guys . . . I come back from the beach and we've been subject to satire in my absence. I miss all the fun. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. I'm glad to see everyone is taking it in stride. Those threads are all so random . . . why pick them? UJKitten

Yeah, everyone's handling it very well. At first I was sort of surprised and a tad angry, but when I read through the article I found myself laughing HYSTERICALLY. It IS kind of funny. And, you know, this forum has the most personality out of any of the others they wrote on. We know we're flabby dorks and we thoroughly enjoy being that way in a cute little community, it's totally okay.
...Still laughing from it, though. No one's going to hit me for calling us flabby dorks, right?

SA is just there for a laugh, and although I am a little offended, it was funny. I'll get over it. And it just gives everyone (me especially) more reason to lose weight. Make 'em shut up! Sorry to quote you from another thread, but here is another good point. This could also be thought of as further motivation. Plus we may have gained a non-spamming, non-trolling member or two out of this whole mess.

Officially the drama is over. Unofficially, there will still be the occasional visitor coming from SA. But it has been pushed off their main page. Almost instantly the number of current users dropped. The situation is basically finished.

I just find it kinda cool that even someone from SA deemed this forum... Good, y'know?
We're not a forum of freaks, really. We just play DDR as an exercise and we're well aware that DDR aint everyone's thing, but we're using it for a benefit. It's pretty cool.
