I know the main benefit of DDR seems to be cardiovascular. It also looks like to me the general "I want to lose X pound" thread always goes towards getting your heart rate up. What about lifting weights? Does that drop more or less pounds than cardio? I do cardio already (running, ddr), but would it be good to work in some weight training at the gym?

from what I understand... switching up your routine such as weight lifting and playing DDR or running. that would inturn produce more muscle and possibly tone you up or drop pounds faster. it all depends on what you do.

Yes, weight training is a very good thing to add in to your workout. Each pound of muscle will burn an extra 50 calories/day just for existing. Add 10 lbs of muscle, and you'll burn an extra pound of fat every week. You may not drop raw pounds with weight training, since you'll be adding pounds of muscle as you burn pounds of fat, but your Body Fat % will drop, which is what's really important. Muscle is also more dense that fat, so you'll be smaller, too, even if the scale doesn't show a difference. Make sure that you use proper form if you're weight training. You'll be pushing your muscles to lift very heavy loads, and is you're not in proper form, you can injure yourself easily. Also, make sure to eat enough calories and protein to support muscle growth. I'm not advocating running out to GNC and buying a tub of Weight Gainer 2000, but do your homework. A good site for non-steriod, non-supplement lifting is Weightrainer
