Hi everyone ~
I'm new to DDR and to these forums. I got my boyfriend DDR for Christmas this past year and he has lost a lot of weight and really enjoys it. I tried it once or twice but I felt that I was too overweight to be any good at it.
He has been telling me about this website and I checked it out this evening. And after reading so many posts on this forum, I think that I am going to give this a shot.
I am 5'8" and I weigh 265 pounds. When I started college I weighed 165 and so I have gained 100 lbs in 5 years. Very unhealthy. I used to be a dancer (ballet) and played sports all year long. Now, at 23, I don't find sports for older people out of school, and the gym gives me shin splints from running on the treadmill, w hile the eliptical doesn't even raise my heart rate. So I have been making an effort, and keep getting disappointed.
I am excited to get involved in this "movement" so to speak with DDR.
So I wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am excited about all the amazing stories that I've read on this site. I am really thrilled about this!

Hi pixelcandy Treadmills cause the same problem for me.. but I can ddr for hours, with small breaks and tons of water ;D Good luck and welcome, from one newb to another.
