Hey guys
Ive been playing DDR for a few years, im overweight but active, i think whats keeping me from loosing weight is those darn sodas GAAAH
anyway, my goal is to lose weight, time isnt really a matter
another problem is i think i have that anhidrosis, not sure and really dont want to go to a doctor about it, but i guess it couldnt hurt, because ive played 4-5 hours straight (standard songs over and over) with little breaks and well hydrated with room temperature water, no sweat at all, i was feeling sick though.
Any recommendations? im keeping a water bottle with me so i can refill with water instead of easily grabbing a can of pepsi. I eat pretty well. sometimes skipping a meal out of...being busy heh.

Can you switch to diet sodas? Not all of them taste bad, I swear!!
I used to be a Mountain Dew addict, but I cut the habit and drink only diet sodas now. I looooove diet orange soda, and wal-mart brand diet coke tastes much better than regular diet coke/diet pepsi. diet ginger ale is really good too. try them all, see what you like. i can't even drink regular sodas anymore because they taste too thick and syrupy for me now.
also flavored water can help too, if you don't like the taste of regular water.
Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!

I just heard on the news that the reason cutting out soda and juices work so well on weight loss is because of the way that sugar enters your body. Since it's liquid, it goes straight into your body without a chance to be burned off...also making your chances of becoming a type 2 diabetic greater by something like 80%.
Thought that was kinda interesting and my mom was type 2 diabetic (that's where you get it later in life correct? Like pills versus injections? I'm not totally sure) so I'm always worried about that.

From Webmd.com "In type 1 diabetes, a person has high blood glucose because an autoimmune process that has destroyed beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin, causing a lack of insulin. The cause of type 2 diabetes is more complex. In type 2 diabetes, high blood glucose arises despite an initial abundance of the hormone insulin. These individuals have high levels of insulin yet their cells are resistance to the actions of the hormone. With progression of the disease they can develop a deficiency of insulin similar to people with type 1 diabetes. " Basically, type 1 Diabetics cannot produce insulin, whereas Type 2 diabetics have been producing such high levels of insulin for so long that their cells are resistant to it. Since Insulin is your body's response to sugar in the bloodstream, drinking sugary drinks will raise insulin levels in your body. After years of doing this, you can develop Type 2 diabetes. With soda, since it's a liquid and doesn't need to be digested/processed, it passes into the intestines much faster, and is absorbed by the bloodstream. With solid food, you have to burn some energy digesting the food, and breaking it down for your intestines to handle. Therefore liquid sugars contribute the same amount of sugar and Calories to your body, but you have to spend less energy to get them into your bloodstream. Also, the concentrations of sugar in soda is much higher than most foods. There are 39g of sugar in 1 12oz. can of Coke. If I'm at TGIFriday's, I'll sometimes have as many as 4 Cokes during the course of 1 meal. Let's say there's 12oz of Coke in each glass, that's 156g of sugar or 5.5 ounces, roughly 1/3 of a pound. A little conversion (1g of sugar = .22433 teaspoons) gives us just around 3/4 cup of sugar consumed. I found a recipe for toffee online that uses 1 cup of sugar and yields 2.5 pounds of toffee. That means that in those 4 glasses of Coke, I consumed the equivalent sugar of 1.875 *pounds* of toffee. There's no way I would ever eat almost 2 pounds of toffee in one sitting, yet I'll easily consume that much Coke. Long story short: Sugary drinks = evil
