I'm new to these boards, but I wanted to let everyone know about this tournament that I'll be running in the future (a friend is running this one, I'll be taking college placement tests).
The Details:
When: May 14 2005, 10 AM
Where: The Dover American Legion
2 Legion Place
Dover, NJ 07801
What: Technical Tournament, perhaps more than one if everyone who arrives wants an additional one, but only the first will have the red octane prize support.
Scoring Formula:
((Perfectsx2 + Greats - Almost - Missx2 + OKs) x #of Feet^1.66)/(Steps in song)
Best of three songs determines a winner. If after 3 songs, the players in 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd are less than 5 points apart from one another in total scores than the players within 5 points of one another play 3 additional songs.
First two songs are player's choice. The competitor may choose the foot level of their third song, but not the song itself. If we run off offical mixes a random number generator will determine which song of the appropriate foot level a player dances to. If using stepmania, the tournament organizer will decide the song (trying to be both random and fair) out of all official options.
Tie breakers will be first player chooses a song, second player chooses a different song, third song players agree on a foot level (lower choice wins) and the randomization methods for the third song above apply.
