hey ;D a lot of you were wondering what otakon is, so i decided to rant on it while reporting some ddr stuff otakon: it's a japanese animation festival of sorts. people from all over the place gather and many dress up to look identical to their favorite manga (japanese graphic novel/comic) characters. they usually hold these things in hotels or convention centers...so otakon has a dealer's room. where you buy stuff. art room. where you sell your art, and buy art movie showings. you watch movies of the orient ...among a gajillion other things. so basically otakon is a celebration of a major factor of the japanese culture and it's fantastic
but yes. i can do standard now~ with the workout steps OFF!!! ;D ;D ;D so happy. burn 21 cals for playing one song sonce. exciting!!! i think i'll increase my play from 40 min to an hour. by using the site angie gave me i found out that i need to lose 812 cal a day in order to be ready for otakon. ok. so say i consume, oh, 1000 cal per day. does the 812 mean that i essentially have to lose 1812 cal per day? or just 812 subtracted from 1000? if i lose 812 on ddr per day, would that get me where i want to be....? help help help~~

Your body is constantly burning calories. Even while you are sitting at your computer reading these message boards. So if you eat 1000 calories and burn 800 on ddr then you would definately lose weight becuase your body is burning calories while not playing DDR. Unless your body goes into starvation mode, then thats bad. I just eat whenever I am hungry 'cause I think my body knows more than I do hehe.

Yeah, that's right! A normal person burns an average of 1500 calories per day. Just all the 812 and you'll have 2300 calories burned. Then just subtract what you ate. Hope that helps! ;D Good luck, keep us updated.

One thing to remember...
you should never drop down past 1200 calories a day...
your body then thinks it is starving...
I subscribe to like every fitness mag out there...and they all have very different articles...and varied opinions on exercise and what works....but...they ALL say never eat less that 1200 calories...
so i believe that one.... (and my moms personal trainer said the same thing...LOL... so i guess it is good advice)

from past experiences the no carb thing works. carbs will stay in your body until you work them off. if u have no carbs in your system you will be working off the fat. My parents both did it 2 years ago and they both lost 30 punds (the hard part is keeping it off) the only problem with this is that u have to keep under 20carbs a day, for the intital 2 weeks then icrement 5 more carbs a wk until you have a steady wieght loss. do that for about 2 months and you'll see a big difference. U can eat as much as u want as long as there's no carbs invovled. i.e. -diet pop -diet lemonaide -diet jello -pork rinds -cheese (dont go over board) -whatever meat u desire -as many eggs as u want -should have one cup of veggies for your(5carbs) I dont have the will power to do this, I'm surrounded by great food, and the weekend getaways also mess up my diet. I ddr 5 times a week, but the weekends I just slack off and have fun
