Hiya, My name's Angie, I'm 5'2" and weigh 120. I'd like to lose 20 pounds, with the combination of DDR and weight training, in 3 months. I am a cosplayer, which means I dress up as my favorite character and go to Anime Conventions during the summer to compete. My Fav character, Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2 (see avatar), is so much more skinnier than I am. But I hope to change that. Everyone seems supportive here so I hope I can join this DDR "legion". lol ;D Anyways, if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Everyone!!!

hey angie~~ i'm also 5'2" weigh 116.6... o.O some how i've dropped down from 118.8!! i think it's ddr X33~ (i hope so) eh so. i'm planning to cosplay too~~ cept i've just decided to do a school girl so! my goal is also to lose 20 lbs. problem is, i just am not good at ddr. so i've been stuck in the workout heavy mode (i do 40 min a day; which comes out to be bout 350 cal, give or take a few). ;o;~~~ can you tell me more specifically how you're planning to go about losing weight? coz i really really realllllllllllllly want to lose 20 lbs by otakon!!! i've decided to cut on my snacks totally and eat a bit less. any tips for me anybody~~? ah, do you msn? if you do, add me! or email me~ essentaro@hotmail.com and rikku is my fave ff character of all time!

Hey coolies! That is totally awesome you've already lost some weight, and you adore Rikku! I hope it is your DDR. Well, I'm doing DDR Max 2 on light mode (I suck) for about 1 hour everyday. Then what I'm gonna go is do some weight thaining with basic 5 lb. hand weights. Some excercises can be found here www.teamflex.com (Don't worry you won't end up all manly). I actually have some cellulite on my thighs and I'm only 14. I guess it's from being an over eater all my life... anyways, I'm trying to get rid of it. By just doing DDR I read that you can't lose the cellulite, but you do lose weight. That's why I'm doing the weight training too! ;D I have a question. Did you work your way up to heavy mode or did you start there and try to do it? I tried even doing standard mode - and I can't. About eating habits what I do is eat between 700 calories and 1000 calories a day. That way it's pretty easy to burn it off. Since a normal human usually burns 1500 - 2000 calories from normal activity, you already have a calorie deflict. P.S. Don't think I'm a show off or anything. I just read Shape magazine and copy their words! ;D Okay, enough of my rants. See ya later!

haha, i don't think you're a show off at all! in fact, you were very informative :DD thank you~~ about heavy; well, first off, i'm in workout mode, so being in heavy doesn't mean much (unfortunately) i do ddr max (i like the songs there better) and they give you (on workout mode) light, workout, and standard dancing options. i use workout (which is rated two stars, whereas standard has three) and i just eventually got bored of light...after i got the hang of playing ddr at all, that is ;D i concentrated on one song i liked. sandstorm; i like that one, so i worked on light, and worked my way up to heavy. after i'd mastered heavy on sandstorm, i started playing other songs on heavy.... but!! remember that all this was done in workout mode (two stars only~) so working my way up was a breeze.
that's it! i hope i wasn't too confusing ^^;; and hey, what do you eat to consume 800 to 1000 cal? i just can't seem to be able to count those cals~
and thanks for the link! i'll check up on that~ i have stretch marks...i don't think excersize takes *that* away though~~ terrible...

I personally don't think you need to lose anymore, but that's just me.. I can understand that you are playing a character and you need to look like her. What are your eating habits? Do you do anything else like strength training? lifting weights can help you tone up and speads up the process of loosing fat..

Essentaro - Thanks for letting me know how to get to heavy mode! I have one song I LOVE, It's called Dive. I think I'll do what you said on the one song I really like. I mastered light last night so I guess I'll move up to standard today. About the calories... I normally eat fish, cereal, rice krispies bars, hard-boiled eggs, sushi, and a misture on asian foods. I like the Rice Krispies Bars because they only have 90 Calories. And a bowl of cereal with non-fat milk only has about 200-250 depending on what cereal you eat. This website will tell you the amount of calories each food has www.caloriesperhour.com. Hope that helps! I think the thing you may be looking for more than just pure weight loss is tone Being toned up might not take the weight off ...but it will truely change the shape of your body... working with weights has improved my posture...wich alone makes me look thinner... so... the weights is a good idea.. i have this book "Buff Brides" and it has every single exercise that my mom's personal trainer gives her in it. It is great!! and talk about cheaper than a personal trainer!! So anyhoo... costplay... i used to do that...hehehe.. back in the day i was Shampoo...LOL...

Oldhaus - Vegetables... sounds like a great idea to me. I need to try that, If I can handle it. Maria - Toning does sound like a good Idea. I think I'm going to add some more weight training to my workout to do what you said. Thanks Maria! ;D Essentaro - I hope that site helps you essentaro.

Hi everyone!!!! Thank you so much for all your info. Thanks to you I have lost so far 3.5" off my waist. I have not lost any weight... but I have firmed up and gotten skinnier on various parts of my body ie: waist, hips, and thighs. If anyone has anymore tips... please let me know. Everyone's advice has helped so much. THANK YOU!!!! ^_^

Yah Bebop was a great movie, seen some of the series but not all of em. Been meaning to buy it sometime too. Anywayz that's awesome about losing 3.5inches I bet you would be good at arm wrestling about now. Also I bought ffx-2 when it first came out with the Strategy guide, played for a week sright then stopped. It got to repetitve, it didn't catch my attention . still own the game and meaning to beat it in the nxt 2 years. Also are you going to dress up as rikku? I would love to go to one of those since anime has caught my attention ever since I bought Bebop. Anywayz.... keep up the good work, I didn't lose wieght the first two weeks but 3 people thought I lost wieght, i told them nope. since then i've lost 5pounds 176-171. I try to eat twice a day with less carbs but lastnight was my mothers birthday so I had to have Cake

iamjay- Thanks for the kind words! That's so awesome that you lost 5 lbs. How long have you been playing for? I am dressing up (cosplaying) as Rikku from FFX, FFX-2 Thief and Gunmage at Anime Expo. I've been playing since july of last year on and off.but i started serious 4 weeks ago. I did 600cal a day 5 times a week for the starting 2weeks. And the last 2 weeks i've been doing 900cals one day and then 600cals the next. Plus i watch what i eat on the weekday(less carbs under 100), but I eat whatever i want on the weekend which makes me gain wieght for a few days. i'm now at 182.but by tues i should be around 178 if I keep it up.
