Hi Guys, Just wanted to caution you all to not always believe the scale. I just got back from a 'Health-O-Rama' at our local hospital and found out my BMI is below 'desireable' for my age range. I have lost 15lbs. in the last two months, but have been pretty steady for the last two weeks. (I weigh myself every morning) In fact, I thought I noticed a slight increase, and was ready to cut back my food intake somemore. The nutritionist said I should be eating more to avoid sending my metabolism into 'starvation' mode. Moral to the story is: if you work out and don't see a big change at the scale, you may be building muscle as you lose fat and it won't show up unless you have an accurate BMI done. The way they did it at the hospital is with an electronic machine through my feet. It looked like a scale with metal plates where your feet go. I had to take off my shoes and socks and stand on it for about ten seconds. The guy running it then gave me a print out of the results. A nutritionist looked at it and told me I was a little below normal range for body fat. Those were the sweetest words I have heard in a long time. (big grin) Anyways, I figure if I'm excercising an hour a day, 5th mix-diet mode, and I'm not eating alot of junk, I'm doing good.

BMI tends to be horribly inaccurate. It basically compares your weight to your heigh, gives you a number on that and tells you if your in accpetable range. problem is if your muscular it considers you overweight. A lot of athletes and movie stars are horribly obease for example on this index. So be careful. Body fat percent and how you feel are probably better indicators.
