so...i was reading one of those chick mags...and one of the suggestions was to drink 0.5 to 1.0 oz of water daily for every pound you weigh... so for me the minimum is like 117 oz of water...and so i decided to fill up my cup every hour on the hour and finish it by the next fill up....
so...yea... totally thought i was using a 10 oz cup and found out i was using a 16 oz cup!! WOOT...so i made my quota yesterday!!
but... man.. i will tell ya.. i feel great!! I add some tea into the mix (green tea) to make it not all water...and it is wonderfull....
the article says i will lose 5lbs in the first week...so we shall see...but... i feel like i have made progress already... so i will keep you posted!

First of all, getting a lot of water in your system DOES help you lose weight. I speak from personal experience here. However, I've seen some variation on the recommended amount of water to drink. I generally go by the old "64 ounces a day" standby. The highest I've ever seen is one ounce of water for every two pounds you weigh. The big thing, though, is to be careful not to overdo it. There *IS* such a thing as Water Poisoning, and people do die from it. You see a lot of Water Poisoning in the rave scene, because ecstasy (the drug, not the DDR song ) tricks you into thinking your body needs a lot more water than it really does. Oh, and tea and coffee and diet drinks don't count. That's what I've heard everyone say on the topic.

I drink coffee in the morning 'til around 9AM, then switch to water when I start my morning DDR-ing. Sometimes I get cold after I cool down, so I heat my water in a coffee cup in the micro. I know, drinking plain hot water may sound bad to many, but I like it. Cindy

I think you shed pounds drinking water because you aren't drinking other things. Thats what happens to me. I would usually drink chocalate milk in the morning but if i drink water to get my tons of ounces i wouldn't have those calories.

Yeah, you will pee a LOT when you first up your water intake. But after a while your body should get used to it and you won't have to go so often. Unfortunately, if I stop drinking as much, I have to get used to it all over again, I find.

I'm totally addicted to Crystal Light, the Raspberry Ice flavor in particular. I can tolerate drinking plain water but I prefer flavoring. The Crystal Light drink only has five calories per serving, so I'd have to drink 10 glasses just to reach the 50 calorie mark, so I'm not real worried about calorie intake with the drink mix. It's much better than drinking sodas all day. I can't stand diet drinks. Actually, for the past month I've given up on carbonated drinks 100%. Now the thought of all that carbon-gas going into my body grosses me out. I chug down the drink mix while doing DDR. They also have tea flavors, but they have caffeine. The non-tea mixes have no sugars, no caffiene, no sodium, etc. It's a great drink for those who don't like plain water. Here is a link to the product information: www.kraftfoods.com/crystallight/cl_products.htmlJust a word of advice: Don't start off drinking the Strawberry-Kiwi bottled drink. It's extra sweet! And it's not even REAL sugar! I don't think you'd be disappointed with the Raspberry Ice flavor.

Adding flavoring to water takes out a lot of the benifits of drinking water...
