I was thinking New Years is a good time to think back on what DDR has done for me over the past year, to keep me motivated for next year. I don't play as much or as well as some of you, but managed 175 hours over 2006 and here is what DDR did for me in 2006 and why I will "keep on goin!"
1.Let me maintain my weight. I didn't gain a pound all year. Didn't lose any either, but without DDR I would've gained. 2. Kept me from snacking during all those hours when I was on the pad. 3. Put me in a good mood while playing (yay for endorphins!) 4.Made me want to eat healthy when I was finished (who wanted to eat back all the calories I just burned?) 5. Kept my blood pressure down - stress reliever! 6. Let me have some good times with my son (expert DDR player) 7. Gave me something different to talk about at the office and let me educate a lot of people about DDR benefits! 8. Met some nice folks on the GuM boards 9. Kept my energy level up 10. Let me sleep better. 11. Had lots of FUN!
And oh yeah - Gave me the "it-was-worth-it" excuse for credit card spending (all those pads, shoes, and games!) Who can argue spending money on your health?
So for anybody who maybe is still trying to reach a weight loss goal, just think about all the good things you did for yourself playing DDR over the last year, even if you didn't reach your goal yet!
Maybe other people have some other great things DDR did for them in 2006, too!

DDR is fun and if you enjoy it and don't think of it as a workout you will probably play more and lose more weight

I'm a mother of two. I'm nodding my head off when I see the list. Here's more benefit I could think of:
1) Great cardiovascular workout 2) Tone lower body muscle[including lower abdominals] 3) Decrease body fat percentage 4) Then you'll get smaller waist even your weight is the same 5) Shop for smaller size pants!!! 6) Meet local ddr plays[if you play at arcade] 7) Amazed at how good they play 8) Practice more!!!!
I'm bad at keeping record. Otherwise I'd like to see how many hours I've done.
