I went to the Stepmania trouble shooting section www.stepmaniawiki.com/wiki/Configure_Keyboard_and_Dance_Pads#USB_adapter_troubleshootingand am stuck at 'If the Stepmania adapter's webpage ...etc'. I use 3 in 1 Ignition by Red Octane. Does Red Octane have a website I can get the code from? I bought my dance pad at play-asia.com and they were not very specific. Does my dancepad even need a code? Anyway, the stepmania website was not very specific about how to use Config Key/Joy, where can I find a tutorial to help me? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't understand it at all.

Open the program whilst holding the start and select button at the same time, hold it until the start menu comes up, this might work. Also, theres a program floating around the internet called Xpad, its a keymapper that allows you to set up a key file for your pad. I found this link, but I still haven't found the actual download. linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2006-09/msg05898.html

The holding Start and Select was for some adapter to convert it into dance pad mode, a 3 in 1 dance pad should have an automatic dance pad setting and function when plugged in. 1. Plug in your USB. 2. Run StepMania. 3. Choose Options on the main menu. 4. Go to Config Keys/Joy Mapping press Enter. 5. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to manuver, there are three fields for each command, so that you can have a keyboard control AND dance pad control at the same time. 6. Begin with Left, press ENTER on a blank line and on your dance pad press the Left Arrow. 7. Go down to Right and do the same thing but with the Right Arrow, continue this way until all 4 arrows are mapped. 8. Feel free to map Start to an available button on the dance pad, but be wary of adding Back, if you accidentally pressed them both at the same time you'll quickly Escape back to the main screen, plus you don't really need to use the Back on dance pad, just move to keyboard for that command. 9. Enjoy and don't ever think about playing StepMania on a keyboard "This is a game you play with your feet"!! Have fun. Actually the link you posted was perfect, it explains everything. You don't have a USB adapter, you have a USB native dance pad.
