Quick question. How do I change SM 3.95 CVS such that it uses Direct3d rather than OpenGL? It's lagging like hell right now.
EDIT: Psh, better yet... how the heck do I get 3.95 CVS to work? It crashes all over the place, with or without groove 2.4 installed.

Ok, well I got it to stop crashing, but now there's no sound.

Aww... honestly, I wouldn't even bother with Groove 2.4. All it is is an SM skin to look like ITG PC; and since you already have ITG PC... I use Groove 2.2. I had to do some tinkering with it to get everything to work properly, but it works great now. Make sure you have the latest build of SM 3.95, since all the other are even buggier than that.

I'm trying to use SM 3.95 because ITG PC is based off of 4.0, which has a lot of annoying aspects (many many changes to mods, screwing up a lot of courses... Overlooking of negative BPM's...)
And I'm already using that version of it. I just need to know how to...
- Get the sound to work. - Get it to start using Direct3D instead of OpenGL. - Get to the edit menus and such with the Groove 2.4 theme installed. - Figure out what I need to set my Global Offset to.
Yeah, sorry. I'm completely clueless, I know.

Alright, I managed to fix the sound problem (the game had set itself to silent for who knows what reasons) and found how to set my offset. That still leaves how to switch the graphics renderer and how to get at the edit menus once I install the Groove theme. Anybody care to help?

Open stepmania.ini (in your data folder). Scroll to the very bottom. There should be a line like this:
VideoRenderers=opengl,d3d
Change that to this: VideoRenderers=d3d
That should solve your problem. Why do you need it to be on D3D anyways?

That should solve your problem. Why do you need it to be on D3D anyways? Thanks. And it's because ITG noteskins lag like *insert explicit phrase here* with OpenGL.

Psh, well I added the Groove theme back in. Switched it to d3d so it would stop lagging... and now all the arrows are red.
