Hello everybody. My fiancee and I are just beginning this DDR experience to see if we can lose weight together. But when I open Stepmania with both pads connected to my adapter, it only allows me to choose Single or Solo, and Versus/Double/Couple are not choosable. Do any of you know how to make it a 2 player game? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. We appreciate it.

What does your adapter say?
Unfortunately, at least with the adapter I have, there is no feedback when the code is entered. You can go into the control panel in windows and check under the game controller testing screen if the adapter is registering the arrows correctly. You only need to enter the code once each time the system is booted or the adapter is plugged in.

Hi abrannan. Thanks for your help. For some reason, the adapter works on my laptop and not on my desktop. Since I ran into my next problem pretty quickly, I thought I'd just edit my original post instead of starting another thread. Thanks though for responding to the first question so quickly. Any thoughts on problem #2?

Okay. I've come to the conclusion that I am just easily frustrated. In order to play 2-player, each player has to press start on their gamepad at the select style screen. Sort of like if you were playing an arcade game and you put in twice the amount of money needed to play. The computer assumes 1p wants to play twice until you tell it 1p and 2p both want to play.
Sorry to clutter the board with my dumb questions. Thanks though, for your help. I showed my fiancee this site and she thinks it's neat. We are both looking to lose some weight, so I think this will be a good resource. Thanks again.

Hit start on both pads, not just one. Once both players have hit start, then Single/Solo vanishes, and Double/Versus/Couple appear.
Edit: I see you figured it out right before I posted.
