Hey guys, I'm pretty much a noob as of today, and I've got step mania running on my Mac fine until I start to play.
I have one sm file downloaded that resides in Songs/Mix/(folder exactly as I extracted it)
I get to select the file and the game begins, I get to the Stage 1 prompt, and then the game exists, I get the error message "Error opening file "Cache/Songs/323....." No such file or directory"
I'm kind of miffed because I followed the directions of a tutorial on this website and I just don't know how to fix it. If anyone has had this error and/or knows how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm so aggrivated!
Thanks in advance guys. And sorry for being a noob, but I'm sure you all had questions in the beginning too.

The Cache files are Stepmania System files which it uses to speed up the process of loading a song. You should not need to touch it. You extracted the song to the right place, It appears that you have done everything correct. This crash is not your fault. You can try deleting the contents of the cache folder and then trying again (don't delete the cache folder, just it's contents). If it still fails, my guess Sara is that you need to reinstall stepmania. You can download the latest version at www.stepmania.com but I'm sure you already know that .

Somehow, when I firewired stepmania to my other computer, it worked great. Maybe somehow that cleared the cache. Somehow, I got it to work.
