I've been playing StepMania for the last few weeks. Mine has a UltraMix set of songs, but when I played it, it didn't match the UltraMix songs that I have on the Xbox.
For example, San Mollete Ne Ente on StepMania is a completely different mix than the one I have on Xbox. I know I have the same mix somewhere on StepMania, but it pulled up this different one for UltraMix.
How does this work?

Depends on where you got your ultramix stepfile package. If it's not a reliable source, somebody may have just looked at a songlist and ignored the mix versions and pulled something together for other DDR mixes.

I downloaded everything from DDRUK. I don't really understand how these stepfile packages work. I didn't download anything that said, "UltraMix." I don't understand how this system works. Isn't DDRUK a reliable source?

Isn't DDRUK a reliable source? DDRUK generally does a pretty good job with their simfiles. What may have happened is that you downloaded the Simfile for Sana Mollette Ne Ente, which in on DDR 5th Mix, but the version on Ultramix is Sana Mollette Ne Ente BLT STYLE.

I have both versions of songs. I guess the question that I have is this:
[glow=red,2,300]Is there an Arcade UltraMix that might have a different mix of songs than the Xbox UltraMix?[/glow]
There is so much stuff out there floating around that I'm a little confused. I guess it doesn't matter as long as my feet are still moving, but I'm a mathematician at heart. I like everything categorized neatly.
Life is messy. Put labels on everything.

Not that I'm aware of. UltraMix, AFAIK, is the name chosen by Konami of America for the DDR series on the Xbox.

The Ultramix bumper pack from DDRUK is sort of interesting. First, it doesn't have all the Ultramix songs. Second, it contains versions of songs that appear in other mixes, but not in Ultramix.
It looks like the bumper is trying to include just the tracks that were Ultramix exclusive (or at least new to US mixes) and simply used the wrong versions of some songs.
I think somebody assumed you could just assemble your own Ultramix pack by pulling the songs from other mixes.
So, you didn't do anything wrong in pulling down the mix - it's just that whoever assembled it did a half-hearted job of it.

Phew! I figured that might be what was the problem, but i wanted to make sure. I AM glad that it has Ready Steady Go, Castles in the Sky, and Do That Thang. I was silly and loaned my Xbox game to my sister, so I was missing those tracks.
I want to get it back! I need to call her today!
