I just downloaded Stepmania and I'm trying to figure out how to set it to let me play continuously (like the workout mode on DDR UltraMix).
I figured out how to let me play the entire song, even if I fail (end of song fail), but I don't know how to get it to stop thinking it's an arcade game. Which settings do I change?

Under "Coin Settings" set the songs per coin to "Event Mode", you can play forever if you want.

Thanks for responding to my question. I'll try that tonight when I get home from work.
I found the NonStop mode (just to the left of Heavy) on the Select Difficulty screen.
Does this work for that mode also?

You won't need it for nonstop mode. Nonstop mode will work just like it does on the ps2 version. You'll get a continuous load of random songs (i.e. you won't get to choose which songs).

The problem that I had with Nonstop mode is it kicks me out if I fail a song. Then, I have to start the game all over again. This won't be a problem when I'm so good that I never fail, but until then, the Nonstop mode isn't so nonstop.
I don't mind not being able to choose the songs. I've found that the randomness of the universe is a joyful addition to my life.

You might try setting up a course file. It'll still end the game if you fail a song, but you can control the randomness to a degree. I use a .CRS file that looks like:
#COURSE:Nonstop2; #REPEAT:YES; #SONG:*:4..7;
Which gives me a random 4-7 foot song (across any difficulty).

I tried the Event Mode yesterday and it works for the NonStop Mode. I just need to restart when I fail a song. That's not a big deal.
I want to practice the hard songs, so I don't want to limit the ones that are difficult. I just want to keep on going.
Thanks for all the help. Stepmania is cool, but it isn't easy to use. It's not intuitive at all. It's so much easier to just plug in the Xbox. Having access to all the cool songs is great, but getting to the point where it's possible to play has been a challenge.
We need a REAL tutorial on Stepmania. The tutorial on their website was obviously written by the same people who programmed it. We need a tutorial written by a normal human being for our people here.
