So I figured I'd make a thread for people to brag about their mad stepmania keyboard skills, and see who would post. Right now the hardest song I can pass is Solar Plexus (which is annoying and not fun), and Payon or something like that (also annoying and not fun). What songs are people working on right now? How do you play? One-handed? Two-handed? Or do you have a converter and play that way (I would, except that I'm on the second floor and my house would cave in). I play two-handed personally, my index and middle fingers poised above d and f (for left hand) and j and k (for right hand). I've found this to definitely be the most efficient method, as I've tried every other way. Right now working on AA'ing BemaniRulers V (a great song), and several others.

right now i'm trying to get a AAA on paranoia survivor max oni right now. I play with 2 hands using the number pad to my right. I put my left hand index and middle on number 4 and 2 (left and down) and my right index and middle on 8 and 6 (up and right). I also do the same when i use my ps2 controller for my max and max2 when i didn't have my pad yet.

Ugh, I don't understand why people are so obsessed with AAA'ing songs; I won't play a song if I can get close to AAA'ing it, because that means you've gotten as good as you can get on it, it's just a technicality. I like playing songs where it's possible for me to get a B on them, ones that actually make ya sweat from playing them on the keyboard ;D .

I like to play with the pad more than the keyboard, keyboard gets kinda dumb after you have played it for an hour and lost like 40 calories.. big deal.

A friend of mine can do max 300 at the hardest setting with the keyboard but thats not the way to play Stepmania... Get a dancepad/mat and start actually playing it for real  Most people are not really impressed by keyboard skills... Being able to do the songs on DDR arcade machines on difficult gets some cheers though  |
